Our performance against Ramsgate........

was shocking, woeful, disgraceful, appauling, embarrasing, non existant and that is putting it nicely. We were shocking by far the worst performance i have EVER seen from us, i can't believe what i witnessed in all honesty. If any players are reading this the good, because i think it's fair for me to say that you all let the team down, the supporters down and probably yourselves down, you were all shocking today.

I was standing there thinking, 'are the players being taught how NOT to kick a ball in training?' HOW HARD IS IT TO KEEP THE BALL ON THE GROUND? I know it's not easy to play football on a bad pitch like Ramsgates, but for christ sake TRY!!!!

Thats another thing i don't think any of the players actually tried, we actually looked like a very poor Sunday league side playing against a very poor Ryman prem side (don't deny it ramsgate) for a laugh.

It's times like today when i think why do i bother if the players aren't going to bother and also makes me wonder why do they play football if they actually aren't going to play football?

Had Ramsgate had last seasons team they would have beaten us by a lot more and it they could have easily scored more today and lets be honest they weren't that good, we were just a joke.

I don't care if people find this harsh, but after today's performance i think it needs to be said.

I expect a huge improvement against Dover on Saturday.

Idea!

As our reserves have a fixture away to Dover on Saturday and our 1st team at home to Dover. Why don't we swop the teams around. Play all our ressies at home against Dover and send our 1st team to Dover to play their ressies.

At least this way we will see if these crop of total local lads are up for it. Who knows we might be presently suprised. There's only one way to find out! But play the whole team not part of them because that's what they are a "team". All seem to know each other inside out. No trialists or 1st teamers! and let's just watch Dover chase shadows all afternoon with out and out pace and skill in abundance.

re your remarks about the pitch.

We've had several comments from visiting sides earlier in the season that the playing surface was exceptional and something our club should be proud of

The groundsman does a fantastic job with the resources available and at this time of year you'd expect it to have deteriorated but is still perfectly playable.

Whilst having the advantage of not living local-possibly the pain is fractionally less-but having just got back-for what its worth-here's my two pennyworth.

We were poor-but not that poor-i've only seen about a third of this seasons games-but on at leat 3 occasions we have been worse than yesterday.

By the sounds of the reports-we were'nt much better against Harlow in the first half-but got the breaks that game-whereas ramsgate got the vital breaks yesrterday.

Lets be honest-had we won,we could'nt care less how we played.

It was not good-but thats the level we play at these days-we need to forget about our conference days-our standard of players and thus performances is alot lower (as are most in the bottom half of this league.

Whilst harwood was in a class of his own, and whilst no-one else had a good game (wilson played ok on his own in midfield and Ohakam was steady-and i like the way he does the simple things well and breaks up attacks, young was pretty good )equally-no-one had a really poor game.

First goal-good shot-swerved and dipped and i genuinely think Mullins had no chance.

2nd goal-was he too far out, should he have made a better attempt at least-probably.

Short goalkeepers always worry me-i think it cost yesterday.

Is he a tad overweight ?

having said that-should both goals been closed down quicker by our midfield so they could'nt shoot ?

Always worried about our full backs-but gregory and Morris did pretty well for me-although the standard of opponent was very poor so difficult to fully judge

Impressed by Shittus ball control.First time i have seen him-has a bit of skill it seems.

TY talks re passion-he has a reasonable point ,but the game of football is completely anaesthetised these days-you can't tackle or you get sent off.At least we did not have anyone sent off.

As one post from cookie mentions-where were Erksine and healey-i assume erksines loan had ended.

Healey ?

Easy in hindsight, but maybe TY needs to look at his selection a bit.

I consistently say that there is no point playing with two 'wingers'.They rarely get in the game, and when they do-don't have the quality to deliver-or if they do-the forwards don't have the quality to finish.

games are won in central misfield-most play is in central midfield-so for hecks sake-win central midfield.

Wilson dod well-but he can't do it all on his own.

Ohakam plays deep protecting the defence-which is fine-and required-but two wide players in quain and peters are a luxury-one possibly-but no way both.

Effectively-you are playing with just 8 outfield players and two wingers who occasionally get into the game.Thats not a criticism of the players-they were'nt great yesterday-but were'nt awful either, but the system.

Lets get 2/3 in central midfield and get possesion.

Would we have closed Ball and may down to avoid them shooting if we had more numbers in midfield

Wilson can't do it all-and yesterday, he was really a one man midfield .

You can keep playing 3 strikers-but it won't get you more goals if you don't get posssesion.

Many teams now play just one striker-but score alot og goals as they have more of the ball.

Again-at this level-you just don't get great crosses and great headers.Games are won by foraging through the middle and frankly- many times just simply the rub of the green .

Overall though-yes we were poor-but all teams in the bottom half are poor. Are our expectations too high?

We don't like it ,but realistically this is now our level.

I just want to win-and don't care how poor we are as long as we get 3 points

Ha ha, all the gloating from supporters of a team that has exactly the same points and a slightly worse goal difference! Anyway Alex, you are wrong, because there have been far worse performances in the past. It's all part of the enjoyment of supporting non-league football.

tell me this.Does ohakam influence a game more than ps did ?no .im sorry but i am still baffled as why kp wanted smith out of the club so much maybe to make ash leave 2 leave the door open for ty.BY The way ps noy attached with any club why not get him back as just a player, when he played he run the show(4 billericay also)

Didn't show much in his first couple of games Michael but like Alan says, holds the ball up well(well,he did v Harlow) when playing more in midfield than up front.Positions himself well, has a good footballing brain & does the simple thing rather than complicate matters. Also isn't afraid of getting stuck in when the need arises.

Now,Erskine.Any news anyone? We definitely missed him in defence (& going forward) on Saturday i.m.o.I doubt Steffan Ball would have got his opportunity had Erskine been there instead of those two that stood still watching Ball side step them & shoot to score their first. Erskines crunching (but legitimate)tackles would, again, i.m.o,have prevented that happening on Saturday.

for me, the most entertaining part of the match was the Choir's first half performance...

most of the players were absolutely dire, expecially in the 2nd half. this was the first game ive seen since the Hornchurch match back in September, so it was my first experience of seeing Morris at right back... what a load of sh!t!! what the hell was he up to in the 2nd half? every time he got the ball, even when he was in space and had time, he was punting it over the stands! and what was Quain's problem? he was dreadful...

with the second goal, Mullin was a little too far off his line for someone of his height. if he had been taller, he might have been able to get a few fingers on it, but he is short, so he should have been back on his line...

i spent most of my 300 mile journey home thinking "margate v ramsgate on saturday, cant wait", i was so looking forward to it... and it was a bitter disapointment
