watched another great game down at river lane, with both teams going all out attack, this game had everthing sendings off great goals mini rucks and a ref who blew his whistle at everything..

but that aside this was a fantastic game with the home side taking the lead mid way through first half, coming from a long throw to the edge off the 6yard box flicked on then turned in by giz raca, but just before the goal was a the sending off for a discraceful 2footed tackle by the w.p. captain, ref had no chioce but to send him for an early shower......

the second half was even better with mv steping up a gear, n creating chance after chance, with them adding to the lead with a well worked goal coming from j.holden assisted by brother l.holden, worcester park managed to grab a well worked goal with the k.james scoring a stunning left footed drive from about 25 yards out, the game was finally sealed when mv other inform stricker buried a low left footed shot from just outside the area, mv were forced into changes during in the game as r.smith went off injured midway throw the 2nd, all in all i think the score flattered w.p. with the home side not taking all there chances.

result leaves mv 10pts clear of worcester park n 7pts clear of staines.

im sure gertcha dave was trilled with this1 well done mate congratulations, did u get the final attendance for this game mate??

a well deserved win even with a few of the boys having MAN flu!

not sure of the attendance but it looked like there was prob about 60 not bad for us.

Im sure the club isnt taking anything for granted at this stage of the season, but must be hopeful of a top 3 finish after the excellent start.

 

If that happens will the club be in the prem. div next season?

for sure, a long way to go, but promotion is a real target now after everyone thinking we would go down in early season predictions. IF we do finish in the top 3 i see no reason why we shouldn't be in the prem.

Do cubs have to have everything in place by end March or is there a grace period into next season?

 

Also you have to apply for promotion in writing by year end.

I thought promotion internally (ie the CCL) was automatic?

13.4 i) Any club with the intention of seeking promotion must notify its interest to the Competition Secretary no later than 31st December in any season. The Competition Secretary will then advise the names of all such clubs to the Leagues Committee of The FA by 31st January.

Theres a copy of Dorkings letter confirming they wish to be considered on the DFC forum which prompted a bit of debate recently.

 

May well mean only out of the CCL to Ryman but Dorking seem to have thought it wise to put it in writing.

Fair enough.

I can understand the league wanting clubs to have a certain ground grading for Premier (step 5) but why should a club have to request to be promoted?

Perhaps this should be automatic.

 

Long way to go yet anyway!
