Heybridge v Billericay

GazzaBTFC

Recommended Posts

News out from the club last night, all our midfield players (with the exception of Gameo) are available for Heybridge. Now the selection gets tough for our managers...who do you leave out, which system do you play...As much as this is a enviable position to be in (on paper, I believe we have one of the best midfield squads in the league), it will be a difficult selection...who ever they pick before the game, not everyone will agree with them unless we get the right result after the final whistle (and even then, there will be some detractors). Who would be a manager, eh?

Anyway, in line with the festive spirit (and part of the weekly pre match discussion), I shall, like others, give our managers some food for thought over the Christmas holidays. My suggestions on the team selection would be as follows:

Tucker

Marron, Duncan, Heffer, Dumas

Ferguson, Hunter, Wayne S, Dormer

Flackie, Bricknell

Subs: Deane, Wareham, Cole (if fit) - Chatting (if Cole is not fit), BWG, Worster.

Get a win at Heybridge and that'll set us up nicely for the C****Y Island game and hopefully continue the festive theme of giving them a "stuffing" (apologies - couldn't resist).

Not often I agree with Gazza but on Deanes current showing he should start on the bench, thus would go with team stated above. Wayne Semansha looked good in midfield at Hornchurch thus would like to see him given another chance there.

1-1 draw away to Heybridge (always a tough place to go) and then we will stuff the Islanders 3-0.

I agree with Gazz that it's probably the hardest selection of the season so far. My team would be:-

Tucker

Semanshia, Duncan, Heffer, Dumas

Ferguson, Hunter, Dormer, Wareham

Flackie, Bricknell

Subs: Worster, Cole, BWG, Burbridge, Deane

I leave out Neil, not because of his mistake last week, but I think he's been looking like he could do with a rest lately and this is an ideal opprtunity. The front two I think pick themselves at the moment. The midfield is very tricky but I give Wareham the chance to shine against his old club and Hunter gets the nod over Deane after his good performance last week.

Having said that we'll probably have eight down with flu and be back to the bare bones again.

Merry Christmas everyone

Come on you Blues!!

For me the selection is quite simple - IMO we've played our best football, particularly away from home, when Dormer has played on the left and Hunter and Deane in the centre, so I would go with that. I agree that Deane hasn't been at his best in the last couple of games, but I would suggest that is because he has been playing much deeper in the absence of Dorms.

Tucker

Marron Dunc Heffs Dumas

Fergie Hunter Deane Dormer

Flack Bricknell
