Last time I visited Bridge Avenue was at the end of the 1997-8 Ryman 1 season when Romford played a good Maidenhead team managed by Alan Devonshire.Believe it or not I haven't been at your ground for the next 10 years if my memory doesn't betray me.I have to say when i got in tonight I was spellbound looking at it!!It reminds me so much of the old ground I used to play in Italy but it had also a touch of warmth and elegance biglove that I have never seen in a non league ground over here. The running track around it,that little bit of grass behind the goals, the high jump mattress, all reminded me of my ground in Italy...oh dear how i love and miss them!!!And what about that little directors lounge overlooking the ground...the gym centre...the tidy office and the charming bar(no pork scratchings, chocolate bars and peanuts though! evil) but a nice sausages and chips!!.I can only pay compliments to the best non-league ground i visited in this part of the County,a ground you should be proud of and if I offended you in the past I can only apologize. You really have a great set up for a non league club, well done to everyone of you!! applause2

Grounds with running tracks around them are an abomination.

If it's running tracks you want, then visit Grantham in the Unibond.

However, if it's scenic atmospheric grounds you want, try Switzerland.

Castles, mountains and lakes are in view - and the swiss serve up *proper* 'hot dogs' aka bratwurst.

I've visited seven swiss grounds. It's a close call between Neuchatel Xamax and FC Sion who come out tops for the view and ambience.

Hitchin isn't bad either - if you like wood.

HTFC is made of wood, but has arguably the best 'old fashioned' uncovered steeply-tiered 'away' terrace in the non-leagues.

'Running tracks' are for dogs.
