Just noticed a news item with the above heading and my initial reaction was to ask what was the pigeon doing with the ball anyway; I think I would be a bit upset if the pigeon had nicked the ball, especially whilst the game was on.

 

Then it turned out that an Argentinian footballer had taken a shot, the ball had hit the pigeon and killed it.

 

Apparently the footballer is now worried that he will be known as the pigeon killer!

 

Bet he got the bird when it happened.
