Away day in Cinderford

Well, as I was visiting my dad in Cinderford I agreed to go along to the match with him. They were playing Totton, and after watching the thrilling match at their place I expected great things. Well.....

I have never been more disappointed by a team that looked very good against Windsor. To start with they seemed to employ a man in the dugout to just abuse the officials and home players. He was a particularly vile and unpleasant person who did his job well by winding up anyone within earshot. Secondly the level of whinging was at Rooneyesque levels form almost every member of the Totton team, the Cinderford players were very well behaved but with the ref doing nothing about it teh tension was mounting. Possibly the only on target shot in the match gave a 1-0 half time score with the idiot in Totton's bench screaming the ref would need protection to get off the pitch.

A much better second half, football wise anyway finally gave way when Totton resorted to blatant diving and increased levels of abuse. A hard tackle left a totton player needing stretchering off, the subs about two feet in front of me started abusing the lino and the Cinderford bench and surprisingly a 22 man, plus both benches plus officials ensued. Two sendings off (both from the bench) and a lot of poor officiating later and cowardice from the ref and the game continued. A dive with the Totton player clean through brought another red card and a further goal followed shortly. Totton were pretty poor, nowhere near as good as when they played us and embarrassing to watch. It is easy to blame the ref ass he failed to get control of the match, but the players and officials of that club need to take a good hard look at themselves and sort it out. It is that sort of behaviour that will cause bad feeling in a game and violence on the pitch. A full day on and i am still angry at the antics employed by a team that is probably good enough not to have to.

An interesting day out then Fuzzy! I was wondering why we had such a detailed report of the Totton game in the clubhouse after the game!! laugh

I hope you are safely back from the Forest of Dean.If the locals find out you can write they will make you their king!

That will never happen, how would they know?!?!?! I tell you what though, it is difficult enough to understand the locals when we play away, but when both sets of fans have novelty comedy accents it is truly a surreal day out!

Sad i missed the game, sounds like we gave them a pasting, again.

Playing like that Totton are going to drop points away from home big time, if Cinderford had anyone with pace or who could shoot they would have go something.
