I thought with the exception of the first 10-15 mins, we played quite well today against a considerably fitter and more organised side, especially the second half where we had them rattled.

Well done boys, you did us proud after a shaky start.

Plenty of commitment from the Rebels.

 

But Didcot were younger, fitter, taller, stronger, faster, and had more composure especially in the first half. Their no 7 Sampson will go a long way I reckon.

I think they just edged it. They were better in the first, and we were better in the 2nd, but were defintely heading in the right direction as we've given all the teams at the top a tough game apart from Windsor. Last season we comprehensively lost to them 3 times.

a valiant effort from Slough in the seconf half... and were unlucky not to have salvaged a draw ....considering after 5 mins

we were loosing 2 nil..infact we won the second half...

Apart from first minute thought Slough put in a good performance Allaway unlucky with the pen didn't appear to put out his arm from my angle cross was very firmly hit so difficult to move out of the line and Dean Harper also unlucky with header which rebounded of the crossbar, clearly a ref to avoid didn't think he was very fair seemed to let Didcot get away with far to much but very quick to punish Slough players didn't penalise either Bartley or Roach for use of the elbow, worst tackle was probably when Romeo was taken out by their no 12

We paid the penalty for a very poor first half performance.

 

Slow out of the traps, second to most of the balls and non-existant marking from dead ball situations.

 

Second half was totally different, we looked like we wanted to win the game and I think a truer picture of the ability of both teams.

 

As for Harper getting sent off, trying to be constructive, rather than derogative, for my money he gets sent of far too often for needless fouls and needs to think a bit more before he dives in when he's on a yellow card.

A decent enough performance and the result probably a fair reflection.

 

First half Didcot were arguably the best side we've seen this season and if they played 90 minutes like that the scoreline may have been emphatic for them.

 

Second half Didcot were a different side and if they had played like that in the opening 45 minutes then we might have got a draw.

 

Either way we should be pleased with spirit and the progress made since the meetings with Didcot last season. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I thought the way we played in the first half we would have made any team look good.

Second half we showed more of our true ability and the game was more even and if we had turned up in the first half the result might have been different.

I completely missed the first goal, I wa told by the ref afterwards that he marked it down as 17 seconds. However, I thought we showed good commitment, and controlled a lot of the second half.

 

Not long ago, we would have capitulated after being 2-0 down after 5 minutes.

 

We should not be too down at losing by the odd goal against a team that was fourth and score for fun.

Totally agree with 2nd half of this post. Roach and Bartley were happily throwing their elbows everywhere, and the 2 footed lunge by their 12 on Yash was filth and definitely a straight red in my opinion. However, from the other end Allaways handbal;l looked VERY obvious and it seemed he moved his arm towards the ball.... it was a stonewall penalty as far as i was concerned
