Joint managers

"Coach i know what ur saying but what if one knows more than the other shouldent he take the lead at all times i agree that Mr Cowley needs someone to bounce ides of but with sixy he has no help he is more intrested in playing and just maked out he is retired."

We all have strengths and weaknesses and the one that thinks knows more(debatable)should be intelligent enough to know when is the time to take the lead or when be silent and listen.Listening is a good art..Sometimes I sit within my players and use water bottles instead of the tactical board!!It works mate!! evil

It works if you have the right people together, and the club you are at as well makes a big difference...

Sometimes it is what is going on in the boardroom as opposed to the dressing room that is the downfall of management teams...?

What difference is joint managers to having a manager and a coach/assistant, a manager will need the opinions of the coach/assistant anyway for his selection, tactics, set pieces...

Alan Curbishley/Steve Gritt weren't too shabby were they?

Roy Evans/Gerard Houllier maybe not so good...

Mate you always have to have somebody making the final decision, yes a manager will listen and take in what his/her assistant manager/coaches have to say regarding formations, team selections, who comes off,who starts the game etc etc but with joint managers they will never agree on the same things, who has the final say with joint managers at the helm, with one manager at the helm its solely down to him/her to make the decisions

It will work for some and not for others i agree with you all !

From my experince i`am very lucky to have MR COWLEY (for yidarmy) with me as he has loads of qualities i do not have.

GB will agree, we have a understanding of football and how it should be played and where the club wants to go.We have not had a row or exchanged words last year and this year so far ! we think on the same lines and both want to win and do well for Concord.

We take fck all from it but are both very keen to make Concord become better as a team and club. Maybe if that means i stick conrer flags out, pumnp balls, fill water bottles,or pick the kit up who gives a fck

We are both young as managers go, and maybe doing it as joint helps each other in times when things may not go correct, or you are losing games. On your own you can be hung, but joint managers can get each other through it !!

Sixy = Waterboy = Senior League Champion !! MUGS

From our (Concord) point of view, I think it works brilliantly, as results show...

DC and DS as a management team compliment each other well, as DS said they have an understanding of how the game should be played and how to help the club/team progress, be it from the signing of new players, new training regimes, tactics, formations, set-pieces etc...

They both bring different views and styles to the table, but share the same enthusiasm and passion for success...

And I guess being able to play 'good cop, bad cop' on your own would be quite hard...?

IMO definitely the right people to lead the club even further up the league system...

Anyways, Merry Xmas compaq7500, maybe see you over Thames Road soon, let me know when so I can prepare for unleashing another 40 yard corker...?

well YDARMY...mr Cowley looked really lost when he had to face a depleted Hullbridge side last year after Boxing Day...Sixi was on a scouting mission in Brasil and Cowley was on his own and the only thing he could say was moaning about lack of match balls(which I obliged bringing out 10 of them at half-time!! evil) and I could see in his eyes that fear of failure that Sixi never has!! evilSixi is a vital cog in the Concord set up and someone players can rely when the chips are down. It's not all about coaching and fitness, team spirit and mental toughness are as important as the other two's.YDARMY,I'm sorry but is like saying that Hullbridge's success is down only to Coachie when there is another person more important called Steve that is there when you are against a wall.Sixi, comes from a family where working hard and honesty are part of them and doesn't deserve to be called what you call.Time will tell who's right or wrong... grin

ps: I'm sorry but i'll be supporting the Rovers in the big derby saturday even against my first love!! evil
