Once upon a time, in a land not so far away...

Rick the Dick

...there was an evil genius who was constatly plotting against the good people of the town City, calling them nasty names, wishing terrible ilnesses upon them and generally being superior in that evil genius sort of way.

The King, who lived in a Scotish Castle, got fed up with his subjects constantly griping and generally being miserable, even though he'd heaped tax cuts upon them & introduced wonderful new slaves from foreign lands to pander to their every whim.

So he decided to get tough and lock every thread on their message-board harlekin

Have a nice cup of Tea BC.

I once read something:

The Internet has replaced traditional meeting places. People once met on street corners, the launderette or local pubs, now they sit at home in front of a pc.

The article went on to say that the Human characteristics of Gossip and moaning was more prevalent to those living in urban environments, so it was of no surprise that chat rooms were full of city folk.

or something like that.

Personally I think is a load of Bull.

Nice one Rick.

Wasn't me that locked all the threads BTW - that was done by the CHIEF moderator. All of MY toys are still in my pram AT THE MOMENT.

Tea? Think I need something a bit stronger to be honest.

Shadowy recesses eh? We know a song about that!

"Coming out the woodwork, thru the open door

Pushing from above and below

Shadows but no substance, in the shape of men

Round and down and sideways they go

Adrift without direction, eyes that hold despair

Then as one they sign and they moan"

Yes Rick - that sums up a fair few posters on the "Sloppybox" at the moment. I'll be steering well clear of posting anything (and will suspend my moderator duties), until such time that the whole sordid mess is sorted out.
Any guesses as to what decade that's likely to happen?
God knows what would have happened if the Clarets had been fighting relegation!

Sorry Bill. The thread refers to a minor spat that's occuring on the forum of our old tennants & local rivals, CCFC.

Balmoral Claret is/was a moderator of that forum, aka "The Soppybox".

Not relevant to us really, but a reminder that success doesn't necessarily lead to contentment.

Shame on you Gazza - "out of sight and out of mind". Personally, it's more a case of "absence makes the heart grow fonder" for me - God, how I miss the "friendly jousting" between yourselves and us, both on here, and on the sloppybox (sic).
There is no comparison for us in the BSS this season. Our current close neigbours, Braintree, are no substitute for Ricay, as their fans are either insular or non-existent (or both), and choose not to engage in messageboard banter (though I suspect we would hear a bit more from them if they were riding above us in the table).
Yes, a meeting in the ESC would be good for both clubs, but the REAL solution is for us to be relegated, or your goodselves to be promoted in the very near future. Don't think it will happen this season, but it's anybody's guess as to which will happen first.

Balmoral! Blasphemy!

You mean the BSS isn't the land of opportunity & riches that you were all promised?

You'll be burnt at the stake for heresy!

Think I'd already be kicking up daisies, if one or two of the sloppybox protagonists lived a little closer to Aberdeen, Rick.
The BSS? - yes, the quality of football is better (so I've been told), but the LOCAL rivalry between clubs is not a patch on the Ryman!
