MISA message re Planning Meeting 17/12

MISA ask that those attending the meeting conduct themselves in a manner which brings credit to the supporters of this great football club. Without prejudging it promises to be an emotive and emotional evening. Whatever the final outcome let's ensure a level of dignity to be proud of. Remember if the worst case scenario prevails the fight goes on.

As the planning application is for a medical practice and nothing to do directly with the ground; i can't help wondering whether it is best to dis-associate any connection with the football side of things;and in fact it may be perceived better if there is actually no 'spectators' there ?

I bet a planning application for a medical centre has never created some much interest from the football fraternity before !

Maybe just the medical centre Michael but the implications of a refusal are many.Ultimately it COULD lead to our club being back in the s*** again, possibly a folding of our club.To me this is a very very important decision the council are making on Wednesday & a meeting that I think many should attend if only to show their support.
Unfortunately I can't make it as I have work commitments.
Am biting my nails & hoping & praying that they for once "give us a break".

I've been looking through the documents for this application at the UK Planning website.

On July 3, 2006 we received planning permission for...a football stadium, 80-bed hotel, fitness club, children's play area, theme bar, conference and banqueting facilities, hospitality boxes, admin offices, 10 five-a-sides (the only bit so far to have been built) and one full-size all-weather pitch.

Quite a list of commercial development there...but not enough to fund the new football stadium? Hmmm...

A final reminder to all those attending that we are there to listen to the business. Any outbursts no matter how minor they may seem at the time could prove to be counter- productive. Let's not tarnish the name of our club.

Thankyou.
