Slough v AFC Totton

Recommended Posts

Agree with all the above, a good point against a well organised AFC

Totton. Nice to see they brought a few fans as well, makes a change in this league to get a decent away support! Considering they are top i was expecting them to be a better side than they were, considering what Farnborough were like this time last year. Roll on Saturday, we need to fear no teams at the moment! MOM: Jacko.

Good performance all round I thought. The defence was superb and they neither seeemed to pose us too much of a threat. Well at least not one that I could see.

We created a few opportunties but nothing clear cut so I think a draw was the right result.

Looking forward to Saturday, it is another big test and hopefully we will be able to keep this run of form going.

A very good result, we certainly know now how to defend even with players out. Jacko was my man of the match and month .he inspired confidence. The game for me was a battle for midfield in which they looked particularly strong, defensively they looked a bit wobbly but in some ways I'm quite glad we didn't do anything silly, that's the differencevi think before we would have gone all out for win and probably lost 3-1. Well done rebels, bring on the didcot.

Good solid all round team performance and to the neutral it would have been difficult to pick out the team that was at the top of the division.

Agree Rory Smith had an excellent game and would be very harsh to leave him out of the Didcot game.

The person who I think was MoM was Ryan Fenton. I've been banging on about him for a while now because he's got better and better as the seasons progressed and gave another excellent performance last night.

Dificult decision for Sweets on Saturday with Harper available.

Does he play Harper and Smith? if so who would you drop?

Going back a bit, I'd agree with Chris that I thought we could have played a bit more football in midfield. At times it was all a bit rushed and we were relying on the strikers to run on to long balls over the top. Whilst it did work on some occasions, we didn't have any clear runs at goal whereas we did look dangerous playing the ball around the edge of the box and feeding it through. We did defend very well on the other hand.

I also thought it was encouraging to see a crowd of 250+ for a Tuesday match. With any luck we could see 300+ on Saturday as Didcot normally travel well.

thatcham have won the last 5 or 6 games in the league

Which shows what can be done. The season we finished 3rd (I think) behind Lewes and Windsor we were in a similar position to that of what we are in now before winning pretty much every game but two in the second half of the season. Just have to take every game as it comes and see where it takes us.

Our average gate for last season was 218.

So far this season it is 261 which is a 20% increase. Things are

certainly on the up.

Have to agree on the assessment from everyone else. 0-0 was a fair result. Thought our defence looked very solid and they never really looked liked scoring. We may have edged it if Bubb hadnt hit it straight at the keeper and Pritchard hadnt hit it wide. They looked nowhere near the class of Windsor IMHO, i know they were missing their top scorer but never seemed to create chances for them to miss him! If they can be top i still think we 'could' sneak top 6-8.
