reserves wouldnt be playing midweek though, and the reserve games are easier to move than a coco prem game.

im not blaming dfc for not being able to play at the moment, jr.

its crap out there for everyone.

come April May meadowbank might be having three midweek games, bookham dfc and the youth and the poor old pitch cant take it.

I think more Reserve games should be played midweek.

The idea of the reserve team is to

1. Develop players for first team football

2. Provide match fitness for players returning from injury or have been on the first team bench for a few weeks.

I am not saying that games should not be played Saturday, but midweek reserve games could be advantageous to all those who have a reserve team. I would prefer it as it would allow myself and/or SL to watch and see who could be worth a go in the first team, and would also allow the bench from a first team game on Saturday to get a run out during the week.

Obviously only those with lights can have the midweeks.

When AFCW ressies were at Banstead, home games were Monday nights (with Banstead & Es obviously taking all Saturday dates). Was good to be able to get along and I must have seen a dozen games one season (sad I know!). Since they went to Croydon Athletic (Saturdays) , not been there once!

We might have played one in two or three months I guess.

Most reserve leagues require you to be able to host midweek games. The Capital League is purely midweek and the Suburban is both midweek and weekend.

Surburban may be saturday and midweek, but a few years ago Boreham Wood caused a stink by insisting all their home games were played on a Thursday, because of a ground share I think.

I am pretty sure that they were asked to leave the league because of this as the the surburban is a predominately saturday league

Reading across all the forums on here, it appears that gates are down everywhere.

The credit-crunch has a lot to answer for.

I think with Borehamwood they have the same issue as teams in our area where there are plently of other teams to support in the area such as Watford, Barnet, Luton, Cheshunt, Enfield, Ware, Potters Bar, Hatfield Town etc, plenty of choice.

I am not saying people will ever choose to watch Frimley first, but we have to compete with Ash, Camberley, Farnborough, Aldershot etc

Needless to say though, Borehamwood have excellent facilities and a floodlit astro behind the main stand.
