mvscr for the div1 title without a shadow of a doubt

they have just about everything going for them at the minute, great ground great facilities, very good team even tho the defence needs some tighten up, nice pitch even for this time of the year, and most of all to stop them you have got to be a very good alround team, they have some fantastic individual players, and probably the 2best forwards iv ever seen at this level by far, the way there forward demolished hanworth goes to show, and iv also heard the management setup down there is second to non, with a manager who will not take losing to anyone no matter what team they play....

dont make me eat my words boys good luck today at frimley

Not sure we will win the league, but more confident now of a top 3 finish if the squad stays together and fit. Page and Bennett up front are a prolific partnership at this level. One of the biggest problems will be Meadowbank, if we have a bad winter. We already have several games in hand and don't want to go into the last couple of months of the season playing 3 times a week.

Still a long way to go I know, but hats off to Tony Webb & Co. I was of the opinion there might have to be changes when we had that dodgy period losing heavily to Farnham & Worcester Park (twice!), but it's really turned around. I think the difference is last year you were lucky if you recognised any of the team if you'd missed 2 or 3 games - this year it's largely the same team week in week out and they seem to have good team spirit as well.

it's a weird league this year

I can honestly say that anyone can beat anyone on their day and thats been proved by some results already.

A solid back line and consistency will be the key and thats why i stand by i think DFC will come though in the end

I hope your right NLN and I have to say I got it very wrong about 6 weeks ago when I was telling everyone at the club (dorking) that promotion was impossible after the start we had had.

Dorking will need to beat the top sides to win the league and we havent done that yet in the league.

if its a solid defence your seeking how about :

worcester park conceded 17 goals in 16 games including letting in 5 second game of the season.

farleigh rovers are on a good run too.

Lets hope for some decent weather then, TSF.

I know many people don't agree with ground-share arrangements, but at our level of football and with cash the way it is, I'm afraid it's inevitable.

The problem rapidly becomes a large back-log of games for all teams concerned, and Meadowbank is no exception !!

Ground shares inevitable? I hope not , its still a minority at the moment.

But where it is in place is some of the revenue being used to keep the pitch up to scratch?

Im sure leagues will be looking at the number of postponements on groundsharing pitches over a season compared with one club use ones in the same area.

I'm sure teams in the CCL that run a reserve team must be suffering the same sort of ground problems. It has been said that DFC should be running a reserve team, but with the problems encountered from last season, this was considered impossible and we have been concentrating on building a strong first squad, and recent results would suggest that we are on the right track.

Money was tight in non-league even before the present financial situation and companies that might have been considering entering a sponsorship deal in the past must be re-thinking now.

Just for the record, we have moved DFC training away from Meadowbank and the ground hasn't been used at all over the weekend, to give Bookham a slim chance of getting their mid-week fixture going, though it does look unlikely.

Incidently, since the last time the pitch was used we have encountered a heavy frost which penetrated quite deeply into the pitch. As it thawed out and rose to the surface, the sky dumped oodles of rain on top. The water table was already high, and the ground just couldn't cope with the run off, or lack of it.
