Interesting though.

However this weekend is red nose day and I've read in the local paper that all kids are free so long as they are accompanied with a full paying adult.

This is where the suppoerters can play a role in grabbing a youth and bring along their brothers, sisters, cousins, neighbours and school friends to a theme (red nose day) that is celebrated throughout the country as well as watching an improved ETFC and our league leaders ETU.

It's a great opportunity for supporter participation, I understand the day will include a Penalty shoot out at half time too for the kids.

Let's hope that youngsters turn up. However, the word is 'hope'. I read the same article and it appears at the very bottom of the feature, not in a prominent position, but at the bottom. How is that going to attract youngsters? I've said it before, let's encourage all those youngsters playing under our name to the ground with their parents first of all and then get them to bring their friends. Where are all those who were in the 'our club' photograph?

You must have some great foresighted (if thats a word) powers Andy.

The U8's and U10's got a visit from Steve Browne and Mickey Leslie at our training session's this evening in our sportshall.

There chat with the boys and parents were very well received and all the boys have been invited to attend the remaining home fixtures this season, hopefully they will then come again.

This Saturday the board and management are welcoming the U9's and their parents to a game, so to be fair, whether late in the day or not, some time is being put in to bond the sections closer together which will benefit our clubs future.

I know we have some hardened loyal supporters who will attend games til the death but we really do need to stick together and support the 'new' players who in my view are representing us admirably since they have arrived.

Additionally, this visit from SB and Mickey were the first of any kind from the club since bringing over my youth set up to the Town approx 4yrs ago, so SB has a few more 'Browny' points (Its just a punt) in our view than JC and SM and any players just on that front alone.

I also spoke to 3-4 members/supporters since Tuesday who are saying 'the problem is I dont know any of the players names', which in my view is an awful excuse on the grounds that in our team this week were Walton, Wild, Allen, Jones, Ellis, Healy add jerky coming on and Deane/Hall still injured it has no substance of an arguement, plus Marcel, Nick and Ryan have been playing for us for the last 2-3 months so why are they not recognised.

The key word is CHANGE and in the British culture we dont like change it has eliments of insecurity, however, I can see us going from strength to strength with this new management team and squad (to be further improved hopefully), we just need to get the off field organisation sorted so that it is complimented.

Classic quote Steph, but heres one.

Since SB joined SM 14 games have been shared between them, 7 wins 2 draws and 5 defeats in the league. IF (a very big word) we had that record in the first 14 games of the season we'd be sniffing at a play off spot at least.

At the same time, what would we have given for that type of form having walked off away to Hillingdon in the FA Cup? whoops there goes my right arm.
