Dorking 2-1 Walton & Hersham

Surrey senior cup glory for Chicks with a good performance against Ryman 1 side Walton. Philip Page scored in the 84th and 87th minutes, Walton got one back in the 90th. Even first half with Bennett having a penalty shout turned down and a Page shot coming back off the post. Walton had chances too, but 0-0 at the break. Walton were having their best spell of pressure in the second half and should have scored moments before Page gave Chicks the lead. He followed this up with the killer second shortly after which sealed the tie.

Molesey 2-1 Ash

Molesey never really got out of second gear in this match and it nearly cost us, with Ash scoring late on

Luckily Liam O'Leary and Matt Baxer scored in the first half to win the game

Molesey will be away to Colliers Wood in the next round

Also it was good to hear the Ash United fan giving it everything throughout the match again!

It was a long way to go to get beat 4 - 0!

2 down at half time, first goal coming from a corner after 5 mins and the 2nd from an unnecessary free kick given away crossed in, headed back across goal and I could only get a hand to it as the VCD player had the whole goal to aim at.

Getting back from 2 - 0 was still acheivable if we bucked our ideas up, but the third goal killed us. The ball was thrown into the forwards feet who controlled it with his hand. It was one of those ones where it was not deliberate, but if the ball lands at the strikers feet, 99/100 referee's would have given it, but not the helmet we had.

Chased the game a bit more, and their 4th came on the breakaway even though huge case for offside.

Once again, the no.8 for VCD managed to stay on the pitch, this time he grabbed Ruffles by the throat right under the referee's nose and Ruffles got cautioned somehow.

Once again, we did not get much from all three officials, but they are not to blame for our inept performance.

VCD had nice facilities. The pitch carried a bit of water but was flat. The balls they use in the Kent League are horrible and have no give in them unlike the nice Mitre's we have.

The only downside to their ground was the 'tunnel' which was like walking through a swamp to get to the pitch, and there were only 4 showers, which both teams had to share.

The VCD assitant manager got repoted by the referee. After the game he went up to the ref to ask for the match ball and instead of the ref handing it to him, or a soft looped pass, he decided to give a powerful basketball style chest past. The AM should not have reacted by calling him a pr1ck, but bad form by the tw@t in black.

And the winners of that face Merstham or Whyteleafe.
