Todays ref

I think a mention for todays ref is in order. He let the game flow well and wasn,t too whistle happy. He also played the advantage on at least 3 occasions and then bought play back when the advantage wasn't gained. It isn,t often that refs get a good press but I think it is deserved tonight.

Really? I thought he was dreadful at times, especially when Carshalton had a player down whilst they were in possession of the ball, they played on and lost the ball to Quain who then played a fantastic ball through to Kenny Pratt and then the referee blew the whistle for the player to be looked at and then gave Carshalton Athletic a free kick, awful decision!

That was abysmal. The player must have been down for over a minute by the time he stopped it and at some point while he was down the ball was actually in our half.

Special mention also must go to booking Erskine (I think) for kicking the ball away after he had blown but not doing the same to Jolly when he put the ball in the net after being given offside.

I agree with margateshot, I thought the ref did pretty well. The Carshalton player down was more about the player cheating (if that's what he was doing) than the ref getting it wrong. Either side could have popped the ball out of play before hand if they saw / wanted to.

 

As you know Cookie, the ref won't get it right all the time and I would say he got many more decisions right than he did wrong.
