Todays Match & the second 45

Undefeated in two consecutive home second halfs. No goals conceded in both either. If only we could play like that for 90 minutes in every game.

1st half. Got early goal deservedly. Then our defence continually got caught out. Playing too square & being caught out on so many occasions with the long ball both over the top & through the middle. Both their goals coming from similar play. Second goal of theirs,Mullins unfortunate(some might say careless).Easy collection of the ball being on but the ball squeezed under him.A really soft soft goal.To be fair to him he made some good instinctive saves too.We had some good chances too but at the half time whistle we could have been 4 down.

Second half We come at them creating many good chances however our defence started similar to first half but gradually they got themselves together & denied Carshalton the space the more the game went on.

Super equaliser from Aaron Quain from outside the area dipping under the bar.

Effort was being applied by our lads now with us having many more chances.

Another game that we could have got more out of,however a nice comeback & some good defending...in the end, in that second half, but needs to be for the full 90 as opposed to the second 45 only.It helps being at the other end too.

At half-time I was cursing the defence as a whole,in fact I was fuming but after that second half performance one has to try & forget that first half & give the lads lots of credit for the way they got back into it. At 90 minutes the score could have been 8-8 in all honestly.

A draw was definately a fair result but we need to give these second half performances for 90 minutes.

THEN we will be racking up those points ...........easily.

Well done you guys...............................in the end.

A big mention for Keiran Morris who was outstanding, in that second half in particular.Erskine did well after a jittery start & the more the game went on the stronger he got.Shittu up front impressed in his short while on the pitch.

Its not so much a defender we need Michael (though one would be helpful of course, one with experience & the ability to take charge & organise better). They are in fact all doing okay individually. Its just that as a unit they are lacking early on in games.

In truth MM the defence were quite good, but just didnt talk enough, apparently Erskine is a Striker but under the loan terms he is only allowed to play in defence (Dag & red) I think Curtis is a little bit out of his depth in this league, but will only grow better. Was impressed with Shittu and if only kenny Pratt had converted his effort we would have taken all THREE points. Onwards and upwards as I really think TY has grabbed this team by the short and curlies and is transforming them into a team to progress forwards

UP THE GATE!!!!

MM, the team was

1 Pat Mullin

2 Kieran Morris

3 Curtis Robinson

4 Jacob Erskine

5 Dan Young

6 Jackson Ohakam

7 Luke Coleman (Richard Shittu)

8 Wayne Wilson

9 Joe Healy

10 Kenny Pratt (Danny Stubbs)

11 Aaron Quain (Reggie Savage)

Beresford and I think Wheatley unused.

Once we got the ball down we carved them open. Going forward we looked threatening especially second half. Numerous chances missed - so close to a home win.

Great goal for Aaron. That should boost his confidence as we know he's capable of it.

Dan Young had two great chances. One with that back heel flick that only just went over in the first half, and the header that went wide. On another day he'd have buried at least one of those.

Kenny's one on one and also the open goal chance which he failed to connect. Shame for him as he did so well to get himself in the right places.

Onwards and upwards. Much better performances of late, but would be nice to piece together these patches of great play into a full 90 as Cookie says. TY seems to have his finger on the pulse.
