Woods 1-2 Wembley.

No complaints from Woods re result except that we were below par.

Lions played pretty well belying their league position.

Jumo Mitchell capitalised on a goalkeeping error for The Lions but Daniel Hughes levelled before half time.

Ashley Ewerse (very impressive) tapped home a deserved winner on 76 minutes.

Oh and Mr Sarah was a pretty good ref too!

Top 5 pulling away now!!!

Epsom 0-0 Horley Town

One of those days for us where the ball in the final third let us down. Plenty of effort from everyone and we looked for the win right up to the end and could possibly look at it as 2 points dropped. Saying that, Horley are in a position in the league that doesn't do them justice and I'm sure they will finish alot higher up come May.

It's starting to turn into a 4 horse race now with neither of us really standing out as favourite

you're right there rattled we(Cove)were very fortunate against them last week and did well to come away with 3 points, there are a few teams in this league who will get better and better as the season progresses, isn't it great to be in a league that is so strong that if you're not at your best you will get beaten,no easy games this season mate.

Congrats indeed to FG - nice to think they can keep the COCO flag flying for a bit longer.

'Pedant alert'

RE 'last step 6 side left in the Vase'

Larkhall Athletic - currently top of Western League Div One - will be in the draw for the next round too - their game vs Wimborne postponed yesterday - odd cos their (very pictureseque) ground is on top of a bleedin' great hill north of Bath.

Oh and not that anyone round here will mind but there's a few step 6 Northern teams [bootle, Scarborough and Stone Dominoes from the North West Counties League Div One & Marske Utd from the Northern League Div Two] left in too .

Molesey were beaten by a better team yesterday although a bit of luck would have won us the game instead

We were quite hampered by a coach driver who got lost (with a sat nav!) and we arrived at gone 2.

We scored the first goal, but after that Dereham dominated the game. Still they only got to extra time because we gave them a penalty!

Still theres always next year! Unless Molesey make a charge up the league and takes the title!

Thanks ratled for saying that our performance does not reflect our position in the league first of all,but personally we also see it as 2 point dropped after we defended superbly and had a couple of good chances to win the game but for the post and good saves from your keeper,i dont recall our keeper having to really make a save.

Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Your keeper dominated his area so well, that's probably why he didn't have to save as most of the crosses and set pieces ended up in his hands. Does he kick it far/high enough by the way?! I had a headache at full time!!

As I said, the final third let us down badly yesterday and our bench wasn't strong enough to reflect any changes to the game. Prob a fair result in the end as I don't remember you getting behind us too many times - it's different playing in a game to how it looks on the side tho so I may be wrong

Ash were well beaten by a good North Greenford side. Had chances but never really recovered from equalising in the 47min & before you could blink finding ourselves 2-1down. Bet our manager must be pulling his hair out as again basic mistakes are costing us badly & if we don't cut them out shortly we will be struggling badly not to be getting relegated.

Hopefully tuesday a break from league action may bring a bit more luck in the league cup at molesey

Ash need to start picking up some points. Cobham have picked up recently and Horley look a good team having played them last week.

It looks as tight at the bottom as it does at the top. Hartley i feel have had it and then it's between 5 of you.

Croydon 3 Cqmberley 1

A very entertaining and nerve-wracking game. Plenty of goalmouth action, woodwork being struck, goalmouth clearances, last ditch tackles, penalty appeals etc!

Camberley took the lead after 32 mins, and that seemed to spark us into life, as we went down the other end, and missed 4 clear-cut chances in as many minutes.

When another one went begging at the beginning of the 2nd half, it looked like it was going to be one of those days for the Trams. However, we kept going, and a superb start to the 2nd half saw us score 3 in 12 minutes.

At that point, Camberley came back into it, but failed to put away their chances, and eventually they went down to 10 men (Sills sent off for 2 yellows in the space of 5 seconds - ref had played on after the first one - so when he stopped play, it was yellow yellow red!). That just about sealed it for us. I think we just about deserved the victory overall.

Good luck to Camberly for the rest of the season, and good luck to Frimley Green in their replay at VCD

I did hear that we had a goal that croseed the line not given and a cast iron pen turned down. Any views on that Purple Tram ? Good Luck in the next round though and hope you get a decent draw.

I had an Arsene Wenger moment on the "cast-iron" penalty - I was in the tea-bar queue! However, a number of our supporters did feel that it should have been a penalty. Having said that, we had a few penalty appeals of our own. None as cast-iron, but one could certainly have been given.

As for the one that "crossed the line", I'm guessing that was the one between our 2nd and 3rd goals. All I can say is that I have no idea how it stayed out! From the stand, I was in no position to say whether it crossed the line or not! The tide was certainly turning in our favour at the time.

It was a tough game to referee. I'm in a big minortiy here, but I actually thought Mr Rubery refereed the game quite well. It was quite a physical encounter, but I thought, in general, he managed to find the balnce right between what was a hard tackle, and what was a foul. As a result, the game flowed much more than it might have done otherwise.

There's no doubt he got some decisions wrong (evenly balanced between both sides), but I think an inexperienced referee could have made a right pigs ear of that game

All we care about the draw is that we avoid VCD! A bit of a bogey side for us, and we've had our problems with their maangement before!

Official DFC Report:-

"Dorking made it 7 wins in a row with a hard fought win at Coulsdon United, a win that sees Chicks firmly establish themselves on the coattails of the leading clubs, just 3 points off a promotion spot.

The win was anything but routine, as the home team, having recently had a change in management, fought for everything, making life difficult for a Dorking side not playing to full potential, and although Chicks missed a fair number of guilt edged chances, the result was in the balance until the final 15 minutes of the game.

Chicks were missing the suspended Andy Briant and the ill Baptiste Bogle from the side that had won at CB Hounslow last weekend, meaning a return for the starting line up for Dan Lawrence after injury, while recent signing Dave Jones was also named in midfield as a replacement for Bogle.

Coulsdon set out their stall early on and did their best to harry Dorking and make their physical presence felt, and the tactic was effective, certainly in the first half as Dorking struggled to get their passing game going. Coulsdon made Dorking's task that much more difficult by taking the lead on the 15 minute mark, Fisher scoring to put the home side ahead, a lead that Coulsdon were able to hold until the interval.

Dorking stepped up their game in the second half and began to create a series of chances, but it was not until the 75th minute that Dorking deservedly equalised. The goal was another quality effort from top scorer Dan Bennett, Bennett somehow chipping the keeper from an acute angle from 15 yards to claim his 20th goal of the season.

With Coulsdon's defence at last breached, it took Dorking just 2 more minutes to take the lead, Page scoring from distance as Dorking finally took the game by the scruff of the neck. In truth Dorking could have scored more to make their win more emphatic as the game reached its finale, but that would have been harsh on a battling home side who gave their all. Manager Tony Webb will regard this win as a good sign, the fact his side ground out a win against fired up opponents when Dorking were not at their best.

However, Webb will know that Chicks will need to be firing on all cylinders this coming weekend (Saturday 13 December) when one of the promotion chasing teams, Knaphill, visit Dorking for a 3pm kick off at Meadowbank adult.

Before that Dorking face Ryman Division One South side Walton & Hersham in the Surrey Senior Cup on Tuesday 9 December, kick off 7-45pm.

Dorking's U18s face local rivals South Park at Meadowbank on Wednesday 10 December in a Southern Youth Floodlit League fixture, kick off 7-30pm

From what I saw on Saturday PT I can fully understand that. Thier skipper, quite a burly chap, was also a nasty piece of work. He committed a shocking 2 footed tackle on a FG player after the whistle had been blown. I cannot believe the referee saw it because if he did then it was a clear red.
