club "progress"

Very strange how the former residents of Netherne didn't ever have a problem finding there way home from the pub just across the A.23 !

It is always a difficult thing "To progress or not to progress". The team that gets promoted from the CCL into Ryman 1 South will have their travelling doubled overnight and will they get any more fans. Probably not. The only thing I really dont like it teams that spend a huge amount of cash on a team but do not have a ground capable of promotion. That team could then stop a team that do want to progress from going up. That is wrong. Good Luck to clubs who do want to progress (Likes of Staines Lammas, Hanworth etc) and good luck to those clubs who feel they have found their level. Never ever forget where you have come from because 1 day you may need the help of those clubs.

Thats a good summary Krooner.

Has any club spent a load of wonga on a team knowing they coudnt go up?

Farnham Town FC for example may know they cant go up but might want to try to win the division every year and have good cup runs. If the club could afford it and it got a crowd in to support it financially would it be wrong?

It would be up to the other sides to beat them.

My example is based on sides whose ground is not in the best nick. Clubs should be encouraged to spend on facilities rather than having a ground that is a dump but a team that they are paying hundreds of pounds a week for. I think it is time that part of the ground gradings is the state of the pitch.

I think our crowd's so far have only gone up about 20% which is good but not great. It hurts that there aren't many hugely supported clubs in that division now.
