3 good goals tonight. 1st half was decent - neat football played (even by Stevenage)- 2nd half more scrappy until we got the 3rd although it was always comfortable - Lance only had 2 things to do all night - a cross to push away after about 75 mins and Stevenage's only effort on goal all night on 88 mins.

Cold cold night but inpatched we looked very good. Purcell was again hit and miss but when things came off for him he looks a talent.

Second half rolled on more and more the frost settled and the thickness of the frost near the halfway line tells you all you need to know about how much width we had last night.

Having said that we won 3 nil looked solid and can we get Darius on a contract for life he is class !

He does only seem to score in Mickey Mouse cup competitions, though.

I wonder how much of George's inconsistency is down to confidence. As Hooky said, a few times last night, he looked very good, particularly running across the edge of the box, with defenders reluctant to tackle him.

Then he spoils it with a mazy run down the flank straight into a defender.

Was funny to see Kezie clatter Oliver (the centre half the size of Canary Wharf), almost knocking him over.

Actually thought Purcell had one of his better games last night - he caused their defence plenty of problems and his running certainly created spaces.

 

Hopefully Stacy Long will remember that he actually is one of the league's better players now - setting up the first and scoring 2 himself should be the kick-start his season needs.

A lot of teams know Stacy Long is one of the best. Stacy, so far this season, has found it difficult to find the space he needs to play his superb football because teams see him as a target to close down. Hopefully Stacy Long can keep up his good play and continue for the next batch of matches.
