For the most part fridays Gazette made happy reading. That was until i read the article where Keith Piper called his critics MAGGOTS.

Not exactly the way to win friends and influence people is it?

Lets face it after the last 6 years people are bound to question how the club is being run.

Can he really not accept any criticism. One of the lines in the paper he boasted that he now knew who his critics amongst shareholders were. Tony soprano eat your heart out here comes KEITH.

I agree with it though Number6, if people actually wrote in to the administrators questioning directors integrity do we really want them as fans of the club as IMO they are not true fans.

 

People who criticise on here is different I feel as an unofficial forum, though I do know of a few who have actually been spoken to re their comments on here.

That depends if their concerns are valid or not, doesn't it? I was told the identity of one 'maggot' and he is someone who has held very senior positions at the club.

As a shareholder (although not of Margate FC) I do reserve the right to question the directors of the company I have a share in to ensure they are investing and using my money in an appropriate way. That's the deal when you accept other people's money in exchange for shares. When those in control and other investors diasgree on how things are run you end up with what has gone on at MFC. That's just the system working properly. I can't imagine all the shareholers at Woolworths have agreed on the director's performance there over the last few years!

Depends on their motivation surely Alan.
If they genuinelly had concerns about the way certain directors had acted,then they had every right to say so.
Calling them maggots seems totally OTT.
I also think it is really counter productive.

I can see both sides of the coin here,BUT,IMO we have to ask ourselfs......1 without Mr Piper,MFC would have CLOSED many years ago,I have not seen or heard of people that have come to the clubs rescue,I have on the other hand heard of people wanting to slag the club off,and they call themselfs fans.2 You have got to give K.P. 100% for his bottle in trying to keep this club going.3 Why would any True fan of MFC want to put petrol on the fire at such an important time.That is IMO.

I agree with point 2, but would you really call people like Gordon Wallace a maggot ?

Its been said here before that it would had been great to get him back

As for slagging the club off, I have only heard people slag Keith off, not the club

From what the papers said Andy, it was shareholders who were writing in questioning the boards integrity re keeping the club going, not sure ANYONE would call Gordon Wallis a maggot.
