Winchester

Wizard( RWG )

Recommended Posts

Seems I got it wrong-my granny was playing for Winchester !

Lets hope this hollow win( cos to be frank they were well poor)can launch us into a couple of more wins in succession, then we should have built up some confidence to take us forward and upward-though as sweets thought 0-0 would have been ok today-then i expect him to think losing to higher placed sides will be ok.

you can only beat what is in front of ya Wizard but yeah its a game we was likely to win despite what the manager said in the week. wins a win and confidence will come from this going into a run of 3 or 4 tough tough games. i believe we could get something from all of them if we defend well

So whats not real about winning 4-0 and picking up 3 points?

How many goals did you want us to win by? How many points did you want us to pick up yesterday - more than 3?

Now you are going to tell us about the good old days, and if Terry Reardon was playing he would have beat Winchester 24-0 on his own!

I dont think your comments have anything to do with the "real world" but a lot more to do with the vendeta you have against the manager for whatever personal reason you have.

I celebrate Slough picking up 3 points yesterday - but you just moan and stick the knife in.

Oh dear staines, time and time again you let yourself down with childish comments,as if you really believe the pen is mighter than the sword.you must read and re read my post so that you fully understand the text.but anyway let me try and help you-
there is no vendetta against the manager whatsoever, as i have told you more than once before,i have never met him and i don't know him, what i do know is a good manager when i see one-and sadly he isn't it!If you are still following this, i also said and this came from sweetman himself, is that if he thinks 0-0 against a side that poor is ok-then he probably thinks losing to higher placed sides by the odd goal would be a great result-if you think that is how a manager's ambition should be, then you really are clueless.
as for the extra childish comment about Terry Reardon-you just don't get it DO YOU-a player of that class would not be playing for a team at this level-and certainly not for a manager who thought a draw at home against the bottom club would be a good result.

I think maybe RWG you are starting to put words into sweetmans mouth, he didn't say 0-0 would be a good result but that this game on it's own wouldn't define our season, also why put pressure on yourself and keep saying it's a must win game.

whatever sweets said before the game it was enough,we looked solid.

How can you say its not personal against Sweetman when he has had the best start to the season in the league since the 04-05 season?

I did not hear you calling for the heads of West, Wilkinson and Betts from day one like you have with Sweetman when all 3 of them performed worse than Sweetmen.

All 3 of them said they wanted wins all the time and failed to deliver - just because Sweetman is more cautious but delivers on the field you attack him. Would you welcome back West, Wilkinson or Betts to replace Sweetman?

Yes, Winchester weren't the best side in the world, but lets look at the positives.

1. We comfortably beat a bottom of the table side - despite not playing particularly well. 3 weeks ago we played like a complete bunch of muppets against a very poor side (AFC Hayes).

2. We never looked like conceeding - our second clean sheet in a row.

3. Another decent performance from the youngster Sonny Makh.

4. It was vital that we picked up a big win today in order to get the confidence flowing after having no wins for 2 months.

5. Its now 4 games unbeaten. Hopefully things can go onwards and upwards from here.

Or it could be that I never had a computer until then, or maybe it was that I thought give sweets the benifit of the doubt-sadly he failed on that account.
Most likely though it was that having read the comments on here about give the manager 10-12 games and other such numbskull optimistic diatribes, especially from staines rebel ( by the way does anyone know,is he at junior or senior
school ?)I thought I would bring my vast experience and love of Slough Town into play, and try and point these fools in the right direction football wise.

Sue: you are right, it is becoming quite tedious now, maybe if someone has an issue with anyone about anything they should talk about it at the game, rather than on here? After all, most of the management team are quite happy to talk- i was talking to Steve Roberts for a good while after the game, maybe if RWG or anyone spoke to Steve/Derek it would make good sense, and they may even

take his opinions on board?
