Cobham 1 v 2 Leatherhead

 

For the second game in a row Cobham concede in injury time at the end of the 90 (30 sec remaining), this time to bow out to higher opposition.

 

Leatherhead scored after 10 with a shot adjudged to have crossed the line before being hooked away by the GK, and went on to control the majority of the half, with Cobham finishing well.

 

Second half and Cobham out played/battled/worked Leatherhead and equalized mid-way through with a volley from the edge of the area. Created some more good chances to win, but the lucky bounce never quite fell their way. In the end poor defending from a short corner cost us as a drilled cross was finished off at the near post to hand Leatherhead, IMO, an undeserved win!!

 

I but have to say the ref gave a prime example of not wanting to give the lower team any of the big decisions, as he denied Cobham 3 if not 4 very good penalty shouts, all for blatant pushes on our centre half whilst attacking crosses. Was happy to give us ones for the same thing outside the box though!!

 

Was a level 3 ref (is that right Kroons?) and gave the impression he thought he was too big time to be there last night - strange how he had reffed Leatherhead last w/e too - wonder if they got all the big decisions that day too?!?!

 

He also felt it was ok to put his hands on my chest and push me out the refs room and then try and shut the door in my face, after having a word (just talking and no swearing) with him about the penalty decisions after the game. Would like to see what would happen if I had done that to him!!

Actually know the ref you had Jurg and that is so not like him. One of the best around and normally interacts with the players really well.

He may do on the pitch, but accused me of shouting at him when I said he had killed us with the penalty decisions whilst walking off the pitch, when I had just given my spoken opinion and wanted to know why he hadn't given anything.

Went to discuss this further in the refs room (at his request)and he came across as very condesending and patronising especially the way he asked "and who are you anyway" with his first words.

Felt he didn't like being questioned in front of the other officials and was trying to belittle me with his replies which I wasn't willing to take and gave it back.

That he didn't like and thought he was totally out of order to then physically push me out the room and try and shut the door in my face whilst still talking to me.

If I had done that back I'd have the book thrown at me!!
