For a town the size of Basildon why don`t they merge the two clubs and have one team,this would make sense financally and they could put the better players together and have one ground??

Bowers is actually in Pitsea, I suppose a good few miles from actual Basildon.

 

Derby and competition is healthy, Basildon have the potential and have a great history. Bowers have made massive ground improvements recently and have a significent wage budget this season!

Just looked at the league table,money dont seem to be making much difference!!

Nope....but the league is finally starting to take shape now after an odd start.

 

Basildon with new management and a whole new squad won their first 6 league games are confidence was sky high. In contrast, Bowers with a new manager with a budget saw his team of 'names' struggle and drop points early doors.

 

Basildon's bubble has burst for the moment but they have made a fantastic start to the camapign and will come good again. Maybe aim for a top 6 spot this season after winning just a few games all last season!

 

Bowers have a very experienced manager, he has now started to build a 'team' with youth and experience and Bowers have hit a great patch of form. I would say that they will also harbour a coverted top 6 spot this season!

Who won the league last season and how are they doing?

concord who are based on canvey island and are about 9th in ryman one north.

Did they have a lot of money last year or just good players

Mega money over there....players being called in on loan from everywhere.

 

Pre-season favourites this year were Romford, Bowers, Burnham and Enfield

Exactly...but only just. Think it was goal difference from Enfield and went to the last game where either Concord or 3rd place Barkingside could have won the league.

 

Cocncord is a cracking little club though, few friends over there. They have made the money and efforts pay (literally)

An amazing run, although getting drawn at home 8 times on the bounce must have helped. Only narrowley lost to Finalists Lowestoft Town

concord must have played about 55 last season.

I would say on average 50/51 games....Concord must have played 60-65 last season
