Saturday's match preview

Must be honest and i'd like Sweets to be a bit more forceful at times in the press. Saying Saturday isn't a must win, well lets be honest it is really. If we can't beat the team bottom of the league were in really big trouble.

He said something along the same lines for the Bracknell match and Hayes match. Just my opinion, and not a criticism, but i'd just like Sweets to sound a be a bit more 'forceful' when he speaks to the press with some of our games where we have a good chance of winning. You hear interviews with some other managers and they say things like 'I expect no less than 3 points' etc... As a fan, for me it would be nice to hear that now and again as sometimes it can come across as it does not really matter that much and sends out the wrong message.

Might say something different behind the scenes, never know but as a paying supporter i'd like it said publicly at times.

Told you so many times he is clueless as a manager at this level and above. What he has done is lay all the excuses down before they even play.As you said he should be more up beat, now when the players read his article they will think-oh doesn't matter as sweets says its not the end of the world. But of course if they loose it will be.Having seen Winchester play I would feel safe playing my old granny in goal and shes 91yrs.

I agree totally Chris, I was astounded when I read what he said. If a home game against the bottom team isn't a must-win then what the hell is?

I also still can't believe he said the 0-0 against Bracknell was a good result, that being the third of three poor draws in succession. I hope he's not telling his players the same as the press!

Contrast that with the Maidenhead managers reaction (sorry dont have the link, its in the maidenhead advertiser) they are third in the league, admitidly they have lost four games in a row, I'm not surewhat approach is right, maybe some players do get too comfortable.

A few weeks back i wrote a post saying Sweets needed to toughen his stance and kick butts if he felt players werent doing the business , which he had stated in local press articles . Since then he has uttered the Bracknell comment and now says it would not be the end of the world if we dont beat the worst team in the league ?? I also said in reply to Wiz that i didnt think we should question Sweets ambition , sorry Wiz you were right ! he really doesnt have any ! whereas the most optomistic of our supporters would be hoping for a result to spark a run of wins to launch a late , very outside shot at the play offs , Sweets will probably be happy with another 0-0 ! :-( I think the penny is dropping with more & more of our supporters that playing wise instead of moving forward we are at best stagnating and at worst going backwards rapidly , i know which one i think ! :-( So Sweets although you think anything less than a win will not be the end of the world i say to you it will be the end of our season and should be the end of your tenancy if the strength of your ambition doesnt even include wiping the floor with todays opponents !!!
