A pretty dreary match.Maidstone were not very impressive but they had 2 shots and scored 2 goals.Pat had no chance with either of them.We had 2 shots and scored 1,a typical Wilson shot from the edge of the area. The only new player to impress me is Ohakham. If we can get our injured players back plus Ohakham we will finish mid table-no problem. With the great news about the CVA if we could attract a quality striker, perhaps on loan, then we have nothing to worry about.

As already mentioned, wasn't a fantastic spectacle. First half, Maidstone created virtually nothing, whilst I felt we got the ball down and played some nice football at times. Wilson's goal was a peach. Second half, though, they changed things round a bit, and looked much brighter. However, despite that, they still didn't create a great deal: the two goals (the second one perhaps Mullin could have done better at his near post - although hard to see from where I was standing) and one other chance, which resulted in a top save from Pat.

But, we still had chances in the second half: a looping header from Young tipped over, a rasping shot from Stubbs (I think) that the keeper did brilliantly to keep out, a long-range effort from Quain that was awkward for the keeper and a goal-mouth scramble that, somehow, would not go in. On another day, us mad few who had made the trip might have had to endure another half an hour!!

Of the new lads.... Savage, the centre forward, was poor. Looked a bit unfit to me, so I'll let him off this time (perhaps lacking match sharpness). The new centre-back did ok. First time I've seen Eb, and he hardly got into the game, so I will reserve judgment for now. Was impressed with Ohakam, though, strong in the tackle and added some much-needed bite in the midfield.

Overall, not too disappointed with the result; ultimately, the off-field news made that trip home just a little bit nicer!
