Seriously though. Am elated & very thankful to those who have given us this last chance & to those that have negotiated.I don't think we're completely out of the woods just yet but we have made rapid strides today so it seems. Now,footballwebpages give us back those 10 points.

Up the Gate!

Almost missed this whilst skipping past the stickies - only saw it because I went back for the reserves December fixtures!

Although you learn not to get carried away in this neck of the woods, thi appears to be good news - after all, HMRC wouldn't postpone again without some kind of provisional promise.

As Broadstairs Dave has intimated, we can summise all we like, but are probably way off the mark! However, I'd like to throw my tuppence-worth in:

I always thought that a delay in paying the full amount to HMRC by a few months would be preferable to them, rather than being forced to accept a lower amount under a CVA. Especially when the 10 point deduction = relegation = less revenue = failure to comply = nothing for HMRC.

Therfore, I feel it may be that HMRC tried some brinkmanship by using the winding up petition, hoping we'd find some cash to settle.

However, they may now just be seeking legal assurances that the monies will be forthcoming at the later date as we had tried to impliment originally. Otherwise curtains for us.

Either way, we hold our breath for another fortnight. And if we are successful, I feel it only right that KP et al are given the credit it appears they will deserve in this saga (as an isolated incident).

No doubt it hasn't escaped the thoughts of the 'Piper out' brigade that, if someone has come up with the

Great news... but...I don't think we can be assured of a continuation of our season after that 14 days...just yet.

We still need council permission first I feel. Without that permission to go ahead with the medical centre we might find ourselves staring at defeat for the final time..Still!

I don't think we're completely out of the woods just yet.

All we have achieved yesterday is a final (I believe) 14 days to allow us to await the councils decision (is due to be discussed & HAS to be discussed & decided on before a certain date in early December if my memory serves me correctly).

If we get that permission THEN I think we will be okay but if we don't then I fear we might have played our last card.

A lot of reliance on the part of the council is required here. Our future is in their hands I'm sure of it.I think we should all still be wary.

All the above is,I stress, just my opinion & whilst I am overjoyed to hear that we have another 14 days maybe this is our absolute final 14 days to put things right as far as the taxman is concerned.

You can't spoil it Tony. How do you know someone hasn't put the monies up and the 14 days is just to get the funds organised?

Just putting the other side of the coin to ponder.

That's another answer Alan & one that I more than anyone hopes is the true one.

I'm just not celebrating completely until I know that bill has been paid in full, whenever that is & by whoever pays it.

Sorry, wasn't intentionally trying to dampen things.Just trying to understand the statement by reading between the lines.

Hopefully I'm reading into things too negatively & that what you say is actually what is occurring.
