what the town really needs,"another" delay in regeneration.

The town is in total melt down, why not knock it down, At the same time as demolishing the complete seafront from the clock tower to (and including) Arlington house, the Eyesore that are the council offices and the know deserted shopping arcade. Turn the Dreamland site back into a centre for leisure, Swimming complex, Skating Small but quality fun park and a quality hotel to take advantage of the facility and the improved rail links. Where else in the country do you have a combination of a lovely beach, a could be made lovely harbour/marina, the size of area just behind a front plus the rail link straight into it and, a potentially International airport 10 minutes away. Unfortunately this all takes vision and a will, something our leaders do not seem to have.

The area as is screaming out for real leadership not political lightweights vying to score points of one another.

TDC would do well to see how Woodspring council are regenerating weston super mare seafront .

Doing a good job in a similar size /type of town, that first came to prominence in the railway age feeding day trippers form Birmingham to weston, similar to margate benefiited from London day trippers.

Apologies for my non football related post on a football forum.

Maybe we'll play WsM again in conference south in two seasons time

Sitting in the Lord Byron the other week I bad mouthed the people who own Dreamland and was informed by the man next to me in no uncertain terms that I should not say anything against one of the individual concerned.

Been told afterwards that I was been warned off by a local councillor who I sadly did not recognise. When I do find out his name I will use his comments against him

What do they mean by Turner Comtemporary. If its anything like the so called "Modern Art" you see in London they will have less visitors than the local football clubs. If they wanted to do something for the people of Thanet they should have invested some of the money in local football. If they had taken a vote on this I wonder what the result would have been.I thought we lived in a democracy more like a Labour dictatorship.

Oh and by the way Graham on the subject of your regeneration plans.Gordon Brown is giving BILLIONS of our hard earned taxes to the EEC to give to east european countries and Turkey to rebuild THEIR countries. There isn't any money left for the decent hard working people of Thanet.Thats what this government thinks of you.

All I know is that when I drove up Fort Hill to my Mothers this morning the car park was heaving with workmen and people. However, when I returned a few hours later there was not even 1 workman in sight. If the building of the Pomeroy Elephant goes at the same speed as the road works on Fort Hill it may be completed in time for Alex's 100 birthday.
