Cobham 0 v 1 Egham

Gutted to concede on the stroke of full time against a very big and physical Egham side.

Battled well in the first half against a team that was dominant in the air and who played to their strengths. Controlled the second half and created some good half chances with their keeper pulling off a very good save.

After conceding far too many goals this season, we were on for our first clean sheet that was more than deserved only to switch off for 10 secs at the end which was to cost us (Eghams only chance in the second half).

Played my first game for the first team this season which coincided with our best defensive performance!!

With an hour lost to this injury the referee had no choice but to abandon the game. I am sure all of us in the CCL community wish Toby a speedy recovery. I understand that the Knappers secretary is calling Farleigh tomorrow, I will keep you all informed.

COME ON YOU KNAPPERS!!!!

Just a quick update on Toby Horrocks. The injury seems to have been more whiplash than damage and he was released from hospital over the weekend. Lets be thankful for small mercies!

The game seemed to be heading for a hard fought but entertaining goalless draw as the referee indicated that the match was in its last few minutes. Dorking surged forward for a late attack, only to see a free kick given 25 yards out by a late Lammas challenge on West. Dorking left back Alex Hill had minutes before been suffering with a leg injury, but he stepped up in the 88th minute to float an unstoppable shot past the Lammas keeper to win the game for Dorking.

The goal was received badly by Lammas, the referee booking several players who complained about the free kick, but Dorking saw out the last few minutes strongly to secure all three points and continue their recent good form.

Team:- Dan Coote, Alex Hill, Paul West, Aaron Leathingy, Roy Newman ฉ, Andy Briant, Lester Boniface, Dan Clayton, Phil Page, Dan Bennett, Victor Donker, subs

Aaron Leathingy, Roy Newman ฉ

pair of ringers, but im going down the club shop to get leathingy on the back of my traditional shirt. hilarious!

ref said he could have sent off two and still booked four, but then he'd have probably had a riot on his hands.

didnt see nuts who has moved on, but several mr angries were in the bar post match requesting clarification from mr referee.

one man's [****!!****] is another mans thingy i suppose.

strange, though, as the DFC forum doesnt allow free posting that someone decided even the dorking officials needed censoring and if they typed the word [****!!****] even with another syllable attached it needed to be named .... "thingy"

does it work on here ? leacock. cockburns special reserve. cocky? yep.

alright [****!!****]? no!!!!

Krooner,

Yes we have the 'MAD' Hatters playing for us. Kris is a great guy to have around the club and has been doing sterling work for us between the posts this season. Richard Shelley who is currently out with a squash injury should be pushing for his place soon!

COME ON YOU KNAPPERS!!!!

Hiya Johnno

3-4 chances? I wrote one bloody line about the the first half & that was your chance just on halftime but agree you did look the better of the sides in that half.

2nd half saw us play much better & did pin you back for awhile, got the goal & thought we had done enough, shame about our keepers mistakes as he had made 3 excellent saves to keep us in the game

3 may go down this year mate. You at all worried??

I dont think you need to be if you are. There is enough quality in the Ash team to see you into safety.

Lots of good individual players. Just not connecting as a team at the moment i think.

Just between me and you (and everyone else on the forum obviously), Bonzo bet me pre season that Ash United would finish way above Cove FC. Being the Bonzo we all know, he wanted to bet me

Not worried

we've played some of the best football in years this season without getting the rewards, so hopefully it will all come good soon. Its been promising over the past couple off weeks, not been playing as well as before & picking up the points, so hopefully this time when we do play well the three points will also come along.

Thought you had a decent side there, well drilled.

Still thought it was a fair result as neither side did enough to win the game, even tho we was just 2mins away from the 3pts.

Still liked you cross/come shot or was that the other way round?

bet the car's behind the clubhouse didn't tho.....only joking.

Anyway keep up the good work & speak to you soon

I'm trying to think of which incident you are talking about cos there were a couple of cross come shot efforts from me.

Neither of them very close.

Pitch was terrible by the way. The worst in a very long time. Not sure if it was cos of the bad weather or the fact you now have 3 teams playing on it per week.

chas gave me some stick. Quite enjoyed it! Nice to see him back!!!

After the game in the bar, i thought Ash United were having an ex managers reunion....

Danny Rolfe and Tony Calvert were there. I didnt stay too long but i expect Jamie Horton, Mick woolen, steve atkins, terry eames, and Glen fairchild would have been not far behind.

was good to be back.

Yep the pitch wasn't the best......don't know where you got three teams from tho Johnno, that's what always been there except rangers are not there & a bunch off 11yr olds which have played on ther just four times so far.

I do know tho Jamie's not been well so i expect thats why it wasn't the best, as you know what he's like about his baby
