Hendon updates

Bitter cold day as TT says pitch would have been a credit to Kent Ploughing Championship.

I think we actually got a bit of luck at long last today and the ball fell our way on a couple of occasions. There were players out there today playing for the shirt.

My MOM has to be between Bruce, Pat and Barry.

Onwards and upwards to 3 more points at the Brick Yard on Tuesday Night (double Thermals required).

We have 18 points HDF.. that site must be still showing the table before yesterday's games. 8 points with the deduction leaves us hanging onto Heybridge's heels with the squad starting to hit their stride.

Further quick summary of yesterdays game:

First 20 minutes-Margate the marginally better side.

Rest of first half -we were dreadful.

Half Time-CREDIT to TY for changing things around-as others post above pratt came on-but for me-it was the re-organisation the TY made in defence than made the difference-and then added to this when Gregory came on-not because Gregory had a massive influence as such-but possibly gave Wilson a bit more defensive cover enabling wilson to be a bit more expansive.

Its a funny old game though-and games are so often changed by one incident.

I was thinking after about 60 minutes how we were losing 1-0 but up to then Mullins had not really had a shot to save (plenty of backpasses though ),then Mullins arguably luckily got away with a booking when other refs in front of more hostile home supporters would have sent him off,we score two great goals.lead 2-1 .Mullins pulls of 2 great saves and one outstanding save when he was wrongfooted, did a double twist, pike ,backward flip and tipped it over the bar .

Just about deserved the win on second half performance.

The luck went our way yesterday-and just about deserved it

Mom -Mullins-for his saves -yes-but equally for doing the simple things and decision making right-collecting the ball when it was his ball ,and leaving it to defence when they should clear it.He alsao dealt well with numerous awkward back passes;and again credit to TY for making good and early substitutions.

As others post-WW obviously gets credit for his goal(s),and similarly, i thought Quain had a pretty good game

I also feel Robinson is worthy of mention-had a barely average first half-mainly because i thought he tried to get forward too much; but in second half -he played deeper -and seemed fairly solid at left back in a defensive role (i wonder whether TY gain told him to concentrate on his defence in second half and forget about going forward-if he did-it worked to the credit of both of them )
