By 2010 West Ham will be playing in Div. 2 against Rochdale and the likes, so Green stands no chance.

I prefer following Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg myself.

Man for man (per head of population) Liechtenstein are the best footballing nation in the world.

Their population is less than Hitchin's !

Decent result by Luxembourg last night against their 'big' neighbours (Belgium)

Switzerland won an' all.

How did Luxembourg get on last night? Went there during the summer. Very pleasant place to visit.

YELLOW: Luxembourg drew 1-1 with Belgium.

I've been there about a dozen times, and it's a very good alternative to the usual predictable euro destinations like Paris, Rome, Barcelona.....etc etc.

I saw Luxembourg play Greece in the Euro 84 Qualifiers (losing 0-2 unfortunately) - but they didn't arf knock the ball around well in their own half!

Incidentally, I had a bet of 25-1 come up when I backed them to beat Switzerland away in the World Cup 2010 Qualifiers.

It was purely a 'hedge bet' as I wanted Switzerland to win.

Er, don't get me going on Switzerland and Swiss football. :-)

But..........I've seen quite a few UEFA Cup and league matches over there in surroundings (and 'hot dogs') to die for.

Did a day trip to Luxembourg this summer and it's a very pleasant place to visit. Takes about three hours by train from Brussells. Eating there is rather expensive though.

It's a possibility but I'm not as well travelled as some people I know.

It's always better to travel than to arrive.

Luxembourg isn't just about 'Luxembourg' you know - by which I mean get out and about and discover the whole country rather than just the capital.

Troisvierges, Clervaux, Wiltz, Ettlebruck, Vianden and Esch-sur -Alzette are all worth a visit (where there's a really strange nightclub)

If it's football you're after, then Luxembourg City are home to the infamous Avenir Beggen (aka Ivor Biggin)

I'm more Etzella Ettelbruck (aka Eliza Doolittle)

:-)

Following on from my earlier post about Liechtenstein; I note that Franz Burgmeier's (a Liechtenstein international) brilliant delivery from a free kick lead to Darlo's goal against 'Greg Dyke's' Brentford.

.....And Swiss international Valon Behrami got the winner for West Ham.

Good to see him passing comment on MOTD. VB has a lovely smile, eh urchinettes?

:-)
