have to say i was expecting a dire encounter as it's a friendly and all the usual suspects droppin like flys out of the squad, but hey wot a performance over our old foes even after the calamatous kraut equaliser, outstanding from our second string and yes even downing looked a threat, lets hope they can carry this on into the rest of their games the future looks bright and the days of the wally and the turnip are confined to history ENGERLAND,ENGERLAND,ENGERLAND

Thought we were very impressive. Downing, Wright Phillips, Barry and Carrick were all good and Agbonlahor had a positive debut.

Good to see Matty Upson have an outstanding match. Thoroughly deserved his man of the match award.

I am glad we have got Capello a manager who doesnt just play names all the time and etc, yesterday showed what we can do without the big guns aswell. Barry played quality and think he can do a job at any of the big 4 also good performances from carrick, wright-phillips, Agbonlahor and even though im not a fan of the guy but downing played well.

Only 1 slight negative is once again scott carson makes a school boy error but did ok after words.

No scousers = good result.

Barry hasn't done anything wrong lately, so should be 1st choice midfielder.

Depends whether Capello has got the bottle to drop Gerrard or Lampard or both.

Didn't see the game so can't comment on the Barry, Carrick partnership.

Agbonlahor is well overdue a decent run considering we don't seem to have an established front 2.

Ben Foster will be England's future number 1.

O carrick and Barrys partnership IMO worked very well but as you say it depends on whether Capello would drop either lampard or gerrard and also IMO I would drop Gerrard just based on england form atm.

Agbonlahor is improving every season and think it should be him and rooney up front

as for foster I think he will be 1 for the future but I think Green should get his chance not being bisaed I just feel for 2010 atm that James will be too old, Hart will be forced out of the man city first team in the future I think, Robinson has still to improve at blackburn and Carson still hasnt impressed at international level so i think give Green a chance

Cant see how the goal we conceded was Carson's fault, Terry should've put in row 9. Green, are you having a laugh!! Apart from that, I wouldn't make too many changes to this team, if the so called big name players played with the same desire and passion over the last decade or so we may have actually lived up to our potential. The players last night looked like they were playing for their shirts and Barry and Agbonlahor were class. Downing had a good game, but he struggles to get the balls in the air. The only 2 times he did, we scored!
