I was at Exeter, the same years as you, "studying" English for 3 years & then doing a year at Thornlea, which was the teacher training place.

Like you, I went to virtually every home game. Some friends of mine had a house right next to one of the exit gates. We used to stand behind the goal, as close as possible to a rather fine burger stand in the corner. My girlfriend of the time was one of the majorettes who paraded one night to chants of "Get 'em off!" She was convinced they were alluding to their flimsy outfits. I wasn't so sure.

Remember Lambie Robertson, their only decent player? A Grecian Jacko.

Soory for the delay in responding. Our lot always stood along the touchline as it weas the only bit of cover if it rained! There was some other good playes - Alan Beer and Tony Kellow up front (I seem to remeber Beer got a call up to the Wales squad). And Peter Hatch - blond curly hair - very solid centre half. I remember the year they got promotion to the old third division stumbling into their celebrations in the bar that was underneath the Rougemont Hotel (if I recall correctly) near Hope Hall. Didn't get a free drink though! I think i shall definitely try to make the nostalgic trip down memory lane next season.

Yes, you're right. How could I forget Tony Kellow? Reading his name brings his anthem back into my head: "Hello! Hello! Tony Kellow, Tony Kellow!" to the tune of a stomping little number by the then undisgraced Gary Glitter.

As long as I can negotiate divine permission from the powers that be, I shall definitely make a weekend of it when we play there.

All the best.
