Essex Under 18's

Having watched Sundays game vs Middlesex one has to ask the question How come the likes of Luka and Dean Etchels are not in this side. Middlesex were a good side with a number of players from Wealdstone who have always had good U18 teams but I would'nt say anybody in the Essex side would get remotely near our 1st team unlike Luka and Dean, and possibly some others who I may have missed. Perhaps these players do not get seen by those who matter but it would have been nice to see Essex put out their strongest side and give Midlesex a game.

A Few season ago our U 18's had a clean sweep of League Cup, County Cup, and League title and were unbeaten in the League.

 

Not one of those was chosen either, yet Billericay is the preferred venue, and has been for a few seasons now, for staging the games.

 

I think I'm right in saying that the essex selectors (U'18s)have not been to watch a single game of ours.

 

 

Maybe Dick Marshall, or Steve Lewis could run with this?

The score was 3 zip to Middlesex Under 18's. Essex were undone in the first half by a much superior performance but gave a better account of themselves in the second half.
