onebreast
I think its all a bit harsh on dorms. Yeah he shouldnt have said that , but when youve slogged your guts out for 90 minutes and got beat 5-1 your angry and upset anyway , so if your fans turn on you aswell then in the heat of the moment you are probably going to react to it. No player goes out on a pitch to play badly on purpose , and most players still put plenty of effort in when they are playing badly , Dorms is definitely someone who would throw his body on the line. I can see why Dorms reacted. Maybe he shouldnt have but what you have to think is if you were having a bad day at work but were working your socks off to put it right , and then at the end of the day some bloke comes and tells you that you are this that and the other are you gonna stand there and take it ?? Rick the Dick
I think if all our players were subservient, like waiters, we probably all be moaning that they lacked passion & were scared of confontation. Emotions run high; people say things they later regret. I should think that coming off a pitch after a good tonking, and where 9 have been trying to cover the work of 11, you may not be in the best frame of mind for taking on board "constructive critisiscm" from the fans That's not to excuse him. His reaction was clearly wrong &, as Bluetone says, not "Captain-like". But maybe it was understandable in the circumstances? Personally, I base my view of JD's Captaincy on more than this one game. And, on balance, I think he's still the best we've got.
jl
Dorms has been and still is a fine player and a loyal servant to our club. He could have moved onwards (and upwards) on more than one occasion but opted to stay to try and win something for our club and its supporters. I'm sure he regrets what he said, maybe some of our supporters regret their actions a bit too. But it's gone now and I think we should all move on. We have to try and stick together as we can't succeed otherwise. Remember the EFT final against Maldon and get behind the whole team on Tuesday. BOB2
After reading Bluetones comments im quite taken back from the tone. NEVER should there be any question of Dorms loosing his captaincy. He has served our club as captain for 6 seasons, always showing passion, drive and commitment! Ok i admit he probley shouldn't of reacted in the way he did, but to say the fans have no blame is wrong. Our support looked great for the club and our boys with fan(s) shouting abuse direct at our players as they leave the pitch, infront of the opposing team - quite embarrassing really! Emotions run high at a football match, you can hardly compare it to a meal at a restaurant! To make Dormer as a scapegoat is ridiculous!! Something does need to be done to give the players a boost, I can't remember the last game we had where all our players played well!
Adam.S
Everyone gets angry sometimes, and everyone will do and say things that they regret at least once in their life. Dorms has been a great captain and we have been lucky to have him here. I also think that all this argueing isnt going to help anyone. Whats done is done, all we can do is move on and forget what happened in the past. I know that can be hard, but it has to be done.
The Town Crier
Jamie is a top player who gives 100% every game, he is a good captain to both his players, and our club. Jamie will lead us out tomorrow and I will be there giving him, and our team, all the support I can. C'mon you Blues..

emmiehl
So, because Dormer is one of our best players he can say what he likes to the fans? If everyone who doesn't like what they saw on Saturday doesn't come anymore we won't have enough fans left to keep the club financially viable. I am a solid supporter of the whole club, but what Dormer did was not acceptable. As a captain he is a role model, to the rest of the team and to the young boys that watch BTFC and adore him - that was nothing like what I'd expect from a role model, best player in the team or not. TC - did anyone have a word with Jamie afterwards and put into context why some fans were so verbally unhappy?

Adam.S
No-one is perfect, can we just leave it as it is now? The negative points people are always making is contributing to what our club is like at the moment.
Brightside Bloke
I agree we all from time to time loose our rag at games and we are lucking to have fellow fans and indeed management to have a quiet word in our ears to calm us down and get on with the job in hand. I'm sure Jamie will lead the lad's out with the same pride he has always had tomorrow night. And I'm also sure that WE will give the lads the support they need to get back to our better ways. Ricydickie
well I have heard the manager apologies, the players have apologised. not heard many supporters apologies. Lets face it we as supporters can get frustrated and so can players. poor old Dorms has played a handful of games since March due to injury his frustrations are probably worse than yours and mine. lets put this unsavoury incident behind us and do what we as supporters do best support! lets then let the others do thier jobs as well. I for one will be at Harlow and I will be giving 100% just as I know all you die hard BTFC supporters will be. and as for Dorms I know he will be giving 100% as he is a real honest guy who will have regretted the result and the way he reacted. One thing i am sure of is he will be trying twice as hard tomorroe. Come on you Blues.
Bill of Shenfield
Ricky, I agree. I was not there but I have read the apologies and as you say none from the supporters. So does this mean that they can say what they like and have no come back? Time to let this rest I think and move on,
GazzaBTFC
That isn't correct if you read Dilberts post... As for the others...? Perhaps some of them will extend the hand of an apology privately, face to face...
