It doesn't actually cost alot to set up a club in the Kent County league. It is only the kent county league after all. Its when you get to Kent League level that you need a ground. Something similar to St Lukes would be ok for the County league which is bottom ot the pyramid.

No offence taken Danny and no I couldn't afford this. I am told by a mate that the Thanet League saturday side The Orb will be playing under the name of Betteshanger in the Kent County league next season. Now if it costs the same to set up a side in the Kent County league as it does the Sunday league then all you need is a few sponsors. Remember there are 3 divisions in the Kent County league before you even reach the Kent League itself.

You need a home ground to play in the Kent County league but I believe somewhere like Minster, St Nicholas or St Lukes would do. They have good changing facilities & a bar (except St Lukes) A new football club would really be starting at the basement of the pyramid. IMO this step should only be taken if MFC goes out of business. I hope it never comes to this but I fear this will one day be the only option.

If Margate went out of business could a new club play at Hartsdown? Happened at Telford and Halifax etc.

I think if you moved quickly enough before HP is earmarked for something else you could do it. The same happened with Folkestone in the 90s and they reformed as Folkestone Invicta but were able to use Cheriton Road. This helped take a much shorter route back to senior football than Maidstone who lost their ground. I think Folkestone were also elected straight back to the Kent League which again if you moved now would probably be a goer as that league has struggled for years to keep up enough numbers of the right standard.

Folkestone Invicta were in fact a well established club and moved into Cheriton Road when the Folkestone Town went to the wall, their promotions to senior football were in their own right.

Looking at the league table on this site I notice that we are already being shown as having a 10 point deduction.

That 10 points deduction hasn't been confirmed or discussed yet & it so bloody annoys me that theses people do this.In time that might well be the case but as of NOW it most certainly isn't.

I even e.mailed TK yesterday about it but he hasn't changed it or got back to me. Oh well!

that win was crucial, and if/when we do ge the points deducted, we're still in the relegation battle. and with confidence on a high after a win like this, we could pull ourselves back up out of the drop zone...

 

by the looks of things, Heybridge cant score, and Ramsgate concede thousands of goals per game, so we should be able to get clear of them, leaving the battle between us, Hendon and Harrow...
