Available central defender

Firstly congratulations Fleet, on staying in the conference. I have really enjoyed watching you over the past 2 seasons since I moved to the area.

Just to let Andy Ford know that if he needs a good central defender then he should look no further than James Sharp, who has just been released by Hartlepool United. James, who is from the Reading area, swept the board at the player of the year awards 2 seasons ago when we finished 4th. Unfortunately a sending off the following season lost Sharpy his place and the excellent form of Spike Lee and Chrissy Westwood over the next season and a half meant that his chances were limited. Sharpy is physically as hard as nails (ex army), superb in the air, has a sweet left foot, only in his mid-twenties and is on also a top bloke.

But is he cheap ?

But seriously sounds the sort of pedigree of player we want.

But the problem is with these northern lads , is altough we can match the wages of the northern clubs, the players can't then afford to live down here, on those sort of wages !!!

But good to have a monkey hanger down the the Fleet, keep on turning up .

He's not 'northern' he comes from Reading and will be moving back down there as all his family still live in that area.

He was at Reading and also played for Andover after coming out of the army.

As far as being cheap. With so many players being released from league clubs, he will definately listen to any offers from conference clubs, he has told me thatpersonally.

He also jacked in his job to join Pools, so I can't see that being a problem either.

Unfortunately, I don't have his number. However, I have contacted Paul Mullen, Hartlepools' press officer. and he has said that if you fax them with your contact details they will forward them onto James. In the mean time if I come across his number, I will let you know.
