Bracknell Away Tomorrow

Hope the pitch is in a better state than last year, so that we can play the ball on the ground rather than hoofing the ball up the pitch in the vague hope that one of the forwards my get it.

Need to get the passing right and when the ball is lost close the oposition down quickly and get the tackle in to stop them wandering through the defence!

Will be intresting to see the formation and who is playing where, as Sweets is too often tempted to have three or more forwards on and that then weakens the mid-field and then causes problems with the defence. Think we need to stick with a proven 4-4-2 which the players understand and provides the defencive strenght we lack, whilst still allowing us to provide an attacking formation with on the ground passing from the mid-field to the attackers.

Would like to see a win today but would take a draw as 1 point a game would keep us up.

I really cant believe the staying up mentality has kicked in already ? How about 3 points a game may get us into the play offs ! Just out of interest how many teams in this league do you think have superior squads to ours ? and why ? I really dont think there should be many ? So why are we ready to start fighting a relegation battle when we should be pushing for promotion ? At this rate how long until Eton Wick are the next local side to be above us ? :-(

Completely agree. We might all be a bit depressed after the recent poor results but we have got a good squad with some great individual players. Not many teams will have better squads.

The players needs to start beleiving this too and if Sweets can get them working harder and playing as a team we will start collecting 3 points a game. We might not make the play offs but we should be nearer to that than the relegation battle.

I've been looking forward to this one because we should have won it last season.

Come on you Rebels!

I'm with mrgh on this one, we have a good squad, and I'm hoping it's only a matter of time before a best 11 can be established and gel as a team further, we have seen flashes of good team play this season, hopefully there is lots more to come.

Come on the Rebels, looking forward to this one today.

Now your talking fellas ! taking all the best points from above , the great individual players have to be moulded into a team containing our best eleven , backed up by a squad who are kept motivated and very much involved in things , then we start putting in the graft required , get 3 points a game and hey presto NO more talk of relegation fights and you never know a good run , building confidence steadily could see the team peak at just the right time ! But they have to start believing that for themselves , Sweets can talk til he is blue in the face but he cant go on the pitch and play for them ! Come on Rebels start the run today ! :-)

Mack is Jagdeep Makh (Sonny from the Youth team as he's better known).

Difficult game with few chances for either side on a difficult pitch. They hit the post as did we with a Yash shot first-half and the crossbar with a Riddell 30-yard effort.

We failed to create much second-half. Densensively with Evans back we looked a lot more solid. The partnership of him and Allaway looks like it could be a good one given time.

Sonny played very well for his debut, but Evans gets man of the match for me.

A very good first game for Sonny and with that performance should start more first team games.

I still cannot see why Riddell is making the team - yet another game where 80% of his passes failed to reach there target - he is just not up to this level of football - bring in some more talent from the youth side - Sonny and Stanley have proved that the youngsters have the skill and the passion, otherwise why are we bothering with a youth set up - use these players or we will lose them to other teams!

Good vocal support today at one of the worst grounds around.

Bracknell demonstrated what problems they are in when the burgers ran out at 2:45 - lost out on taking some easy money from one of their bigger gates - what a shambles!!!!!!.

A much improved performance, the back line looked mostly more solid with Evans there, hopefully the back three of Harper, Evans and Allaway will come good for us.

Sonny had a very good game, look forward to seeing him again. There was some good running from Platt today and Yash kept trying to get in round the back as usual.

Much better, let's build on it in training and come out strong in 2 weeks time.

I thought it was a relatively sound performance. We were much better defensively with Evans being a vocal and dominant performer at the back. We were caught out a couple of times but with Jacko as usual making the stops and others chasing back we racked up our first clean sheet which is a huge bonus. Sonny had an excellent game at right wing back. Definitely one we should be looking to bring on and develop.

Good to have Luke back, motm for me and now let's hope the two week gap allows others to recover from injury and we should be in a very good position come Winchester.

No coincidence that we kept our first clean sheet with Evans back.

Difficult to name a MOM. I Thought there were some good solid performances today especially from Jacko who made 2/3 crucial one on one saves, Evans and Allaway looked a good solid pairing and Harper who I thought never put a foot wrong.

I thought it was strange that Fermie was taken off when the obvious weak link in midfield was Riddell. Difficult to be too critical because he tries his best and always gives 100% but is that sufficient to warrent a place in the starting 11.

IMO he gives the ball away too often and because he is slow gets turned and beaten far to easy.

as said above some very good team member performances, but i am afraid that lee riddell has to up his game or move over, i think he made two good passes all gameand a shot that 9if it had gone in would have made goal of the seasonbut that should not be good enough to warrant being in the starting eleven, also today the performance of the officials is worthy of comment, generally it is thought that the officials are woeful at this level but todays have managed to lower the standard to that of duck weed , a goal kick clearly seen by everybody in the ground to have been headed off by a defender, throw ins very rarely taken any where near where the ball left the pitch, fouls committed by one side then the resulting free kick awarded to the same side, i think the ref probably helped the fact that there were no goals by his strange and somewhat bewildering decisions, but besides all this i found the game to be somwhat compelling though at this time i cant't tell you why!

I would really like to know how come people think drawing 0-0

with Bracknell was a reasonable result, the fact that we cannot beat teams below and level with us says it all.Quite a few comments above have stated that we have a good squad in their opinion-so why do we do badly week in week out-its as I keep saying the manager is useless. We got Fermie ex Uxbridge and Hayes yet since they got shot of him they have improved.

What are you saying RWG? IMHO, Fermie has put in some excellent displays since he joined us, our defence has improved since he joined and has been one of Sweetmans better signings.

Why the persistent berating of Riddell? Is he the current scapegoat? He's no worse than 5 or 6 players out there yesterday. Everyone is going overboard re Sonny who I'd say did just about ok (for a kid) but no better whereas Riddell gets criticised despite almost every player hoofing long balls to nowhere all game.

I think if people discard their preconceived views they'd see that Sonny didn't do half as well as people are making out and Riddell didn't do half as bad (or at least no worse) than most.

I thought that Sonny had a very good game, and we looked stronger with Luke back in defence.

Bracknell were very lucky to not have their keeper sent off, If any other player had taken out Platt like that with the knee, as last man, they would have been off like a shot.

We kept playing for the full 90 minutes and managed our first clean sheet of the season.

Now we have two weeks to get some more players fit enough to play again.

Come on Rebels

Sending their keeper off would have been harsh in my opinion.

I think Sonny has been given more leeway because it was his first team appearance, but he definetly looks promising and i hope we have a reserve team next season. I agree that Lee Riddell certaintly does come in for too much stick - and he will score with one of his long range efforts soon.

Great to see Luke Evans back.
