The Lee Hodges Affect

Watching from afar for the last couple of years, it appears that Lee Hodges had a great affect on the team. Does anyone support the theory that we have lost his creative edge in the midfield meaning a lack of supply?

A few years ago Leon Hunter was introduced to the team, and seemed very ineffective. Relying on someone like this imo is not effective.

Leon has been a greatr servant for the club over the seasons and whilst he hasn't had the best of seasons this season, he has played better over the past couple of games, getting back to what he does best which is supporting the forwards and "ghosting" into forward positions.

Concerning the first point made, we have possibly missed Lee but that is only in light of the fact that we have not had our strongest eleven available for any sequence of games this season. With Jamie Dormer, Bradley Woods-Garnes, Dave Wareham, Tim Cole (sorry if I have missed anyone out) coming back from injury, as well as the inclusion of some of our new players, we shall have one of the strongest "fit" squads in the league. Would the inclusion of Lee have made any difference considering the circumstances we have expereinced this season? Not really a point of discussion as he is no longer with us and any arguement to make a point will have to include the word "if"...

Lee Hodges is a top player and a top bloke, as well as a player we all hold in admiration. He has the experience which people may argue has been lacking from the team BUT we have never been a "one man band" and we certainly have talent and expereince in the squad. The managers have responded in a positive way to get our promotion challenge back on track and it is up to us to get behind them and the players for the rest of the season.

I agree with gaz. Leon is 1 of the longest serving members of our squad. Ok hes not everyones favourite person, but he still performs, and in recent games, been performing well and even being put on the transfer list has improved his performances.

And ok so he's not a lee hodges. Lee had quality, we all know that, but we could all see that in some games he would find it difficult to perform.

I think on the basis of ball playing, lee was good at that, but we still have a good ball player, which is dormer, and for myself i cannot wait to see him in action.
