What the hell is going on at Barking

This once great bastian of the Isthmian League is now bottom of our league. The bar is closed. What is it all about??????

 

When the old Romford packed up in 78 I took in a few Barking games in the late 70's early 80's period. The time when they won the Isthmian League and knocked Oxford United out of the FA Cup. They had a great side then playing good football. I also remember going to their clubhouse a few years later for a gentlemens evening only for it be brought to an abrupt end by the boys in blue.

 

They never had massive support but the bar used to be crammed all the time.

 

What do they need to do to get things going again?

 

If it is to go to waste perhaps Romford could take it over????

Perhaps the local council

could intervene to get senior football back at the once proud Mayesbrook Park

A few kegs of beer and some bar staff maybe?

heard "Ross" quit the weekend so a new manager has been appointed, maybe the bar situation may change but don't hold your breath

its the council that is most to blame in my view

I think you would find there is a lot of money owed in different directions !

The problem at the club as far as i know is that they cant find the original lease as a previous owner in which i wont say has not been seen for months due to upseting a few people. Also I last heard there was a few parties interested in the club only prob is the lease cannot be found and no 1 cant get hold of the previous owner and so what people have proposed is for a new lease to be drawn up by the council and passed on to new owners but the council have yet to do this and there has to be a lot of work done off the pitch aswell which I was told that the clubhouse needs to be demolioshed and rebuilt and also seen on there forum that there ground might not be up to Essex senior standards.

 

I for one hope it gets sorted soon
