Slough Town vs Bishops Cleeve

I tought we were much better today. We attacked the ball and were always in Bishop Cleeve's faces. The players looked like they wanted the win.

Our midfield was more in the game, and were supported from bothe defenders and stickers.

OK, we went into another last 5 minutes panic attack and conceded yet another extremely late goal, but there was at least 80 minutes of positive approach from the previous few games.

Until then, we looked at lot more comfortable on the ball, and players got back to running off the ball to get into positions to take the ball.

Yes, I'm gutted to see the players drop like that, but the way we have been playing up to today, I would have been happy for a draw before the game starts.

Also, the singing was back, which had to help the players. Let's all get behind the players and help them get back to winning ways and a full 90+ minutes display.

It's strange that we all see different games. I thought we were very poor today against an even poorer side and the only players I would give credit to are Jackson and Fermie. We would have lost if Jackson had not made a vital save in the second half.

We have better players than last year without doubt but we are disorganised, mostly uncreative and we don't work hard enough. We have come up against 'lesser' teans this season who have wanted it more, been more organised and we have lost.

This needs to be sorted out because play-offs are a ridiculous suggestion and relegation battle far more of a realistic possibility.

Martin and Charlie, you would have been better to just edit your messages and say nothing....we're all wondering what went on now; someone tell us!

Generally agree with what hass been said so far, but I believe the substitutions of Romeo and DJ cost the game. Taking off the 2 attacking threats and the ability to hold the ball up front left the defence and midfield under pressure.

The same happened at Thatcham and that also cost us the result.

i didnt think we was that great either tbh

really not good enough tbh to only have 3 or 4 half chances against a team that are lower than us in comparison to their 3 great chances that somehow Jacko kept out isnt good enough

we had more commitment in winning the ball but they still just about edged it in that department imo

still far too many quick boots towards to the attackers or most the time not to them at all. when we take our time to build we still tend to try something a bit too clever when more simpler options are on

formation was better but not sure we have the players for it at the moment. fair play to Riddell he did a job on the right and stretched their defence. might not have done much but a few great crosses and at the end of the day he isnt a winger. was ignored time and time again while in space. didnt like the short corner wasting that lasted all of 3 seconds though

can only assume that DJ and Romeo are still injured or carrying knocks. Romeo got kicked down his achillies (sp?) late on in the 1st half

the equaliser came from yet again not being switched on and tough enough in the tackle in midfield though it was a well struck shot.

Any idea how long Laurence Brown is out for. Think we are missing him in midfield at the moment.

Our best spell performance wise was with him alongside Pritchard. I think given the amount of goals being conceded it might be worth playing with 2 holding midfielders in front of a back 3 or 4. Pritchard could then be pushed a bit further forward.

I think a back 4 is the way to go (Harper, Allaway, Smith, Fenton), but the 4 in midfield didn't work because McConigley was playing too defensively on the left and Riddell wasn't effective on the right.

I feel a bit sorry for Riddell in many ways. His biggest weakness is maybe his willingness to play anywhere. In games this season he's played left back, right back, centre half, right wing and centre midfield. If we're going to play him at all, I think he needs to play in the middle of the park.

Personally with what we had available yesterday, I'd have played Platt and Jordan up front as they have a decent understanding, and Romeo and Attrell on the flanks.

Jacko kept us in the game on several occasions, but thats his job. Lee is being played out of position and that does him no favours at all.Platty didnt start and should have done .I thought Ryan Fenton had a good game but everyone except Jacko went to sleep with 10 minutes to go. Would like to see Luke Evans back to bolster our defence and assume Byron was injured as he is someone who can create opportunities given the right support.

To be fair, I heard before the game that Platt wasn't fully fit/ slightly injured, which is why he didn't start I assume.

Also looking forward to seeing Evans return, he will bring a good heading ability to a team which can struggle to head the ball (with the exception of Dean Harper).

I also think the back 4 is more appropriate, we need an extra man in midfield which could help us to defend better and would also provide that bit more protection down the wings when defending, while also allowing us to attack and overlap.
