49 more points needed then

It looks like in excess of 50 points will be needed to avoid relegation this year.

Effectively -we are on 2 points (assuming survival )

 

So say 49 points needed from 27 games-thats close to championship performance at almost 2 points per game.

 

Maybe 15 wins and 4 draws .

 

Mighty mighty tough ask imo.

Whilst this site has been somewhat premature in deducting the 10 points; and the calculations for predicted final position are a bit arbitrary to say the least; thought this was quite interesting regardless.

As i posted at the start of thread, realistically you normally need 50 points to be safe-and that to me is virtually impossible after our deduction.(championship form !!)

 

At the other end of the 'scale' this rather arbitrary prediction table suggests 40 points may just be enough this season.

 

The truth is somewhere in between probably.

 

It does seem that this season, the 4/5 bottom clubs of which we are one, are similarly matched and with them thus all fairly even, it may be that instead of the customary 50 points needed to be safe, mid forties may just be enough,which makes it not totally impossible for us to survive and gives a glimmer of hope.

Better still if there are 6/7 teams evenly matched at the bottom.

 

Imagine the difference to it, if we were to win our next 2 league games though-wow!

 

Only problem is, despite our win on saturday, on that performance alone, i have a horrible feeling i may be imagining for a long time.

 

Still ,its not a certainty we are down and out just yet.
