Margate 4 - Gravesend 3

As it's so quiet on here just thought I'd cheer us all up by remembering that "On This Day" (thanks to Jeff Trice's great MFC History site) in 1958 we beat Gravesend 4-3 at Hartsdown in front of 4000 people with goals from Roy Bostock(2), Ken Tucker and someone called OG!

 

Not a lot of people know that!

Mind you, ten years before we were busy (or otherwise) losing 2-1 to Sheppey United (still in front of 2,600 people!).

 

Ex St.George's School boy Ronnie Martell got our goal.

 

Just thought I'd give St.George's a plug.

Not a lot of people know that!

OG is fast becoming a thing of the past, they shoot now going somewhere towards the corner flag it cannons of 3 or 4 defenders before the keeper spills it into the net and the forward is credited with the goal!!!
