New Signing

Richard Ketchell has joined us from Dartford FC. Richard is a young, 6'4" centre back who can also play at left back. He is an ex-West Ham junior who has played for Brentwood and Thurrock as well as Dartford.

 

We wish Richard every success in his career with Billericay Town.

 

As on the website. Sounds like a very good signing, looking like we are strengthening the back four.

Reading the Darts forum, it would appear he is currently injured. Anyone know if he's back for our next game?

He was injured but now recovered. looks a good signing and should be available for our next game i understand.

The good news is that he is 6' 4". The bad news is that he was released by Dartford after only 4 games. Best of luck to him. He will have to fight it out with Clarey,Duncan and Heffer to partner Cole. How many players are fighting it out for the left back spot?

Welcome to Billericay Richard.

 

The centre back position is something of a problem for us - if this season tells us anything, it's that we can't rely on Heffer and Cole to be available, and performing well week in week out. The position is therefore up for grabs for the long term (i.e. next season), and Lynvall and Richard (and I guess Marc if he gets fit) have got first chance to stake their claim.

I think cole is to injury prone and will not be playing many games this season as we of hoped. Heffer is getting old and maybe will not be involed as much although i rate him. We have 3 young centre backs fighting it out. I would go with Clarey and Duncun at the back.

although i dont rate duncun that much, i think he will benifet more from playing beside clarey. They both have pace which will allow them to cover eachother if needed and with clareys bite and agression it will make life easier for duncun to concentrate more on the things he is good at. IMO.

I dont think anyone can say who will get the spot out of the 3 fighting it out when we havn't even seen ketchell play yet.

 

The reason why duncan is put next to cole or heffer or trotty, is because he will benefit more from them because they are more experienced and duncan can gain experience and knowledge from them.

Ketchell was good at Brentwood but apparently got unlucky with injuries at Dartford.

If he is fully fit and especially if he is encouraged to go forward at times, Billericay ought to be dead chuffed at getting him

WE NEED TO FIND SOMEBODY WHO IS FIT ENOUGH TO START !!! OUR INJURY RECORD IS GETTING BEYOND A JOKE. SEEMSTO BE A PROBLEM FOR A COUPLE OF SEASONS NOW - CAN ANYBODY EXPLAIN WHY THIS HAPPENS

I read the forum aswell and they said that he had overcome his injury in one of the posts. I think we will see him play on tuesday.
