Would be a game with passion and meaning.

With so many players leaving clubs when the Manager does and the players come from miles away to play for that Manager, could you have a rule about that players or a percentage of players need to be within a catchment area of say 5 miles from ground. That way you get players staying at clubs and come continuity?
Would be hard to police it but means you get a team & club which means something to the people of that village or town!

What about a CCL Vets league?

Not a bad call. (Sundays??)
We have a youth cup with a view to a youth league eventually (I believe) in line with FA directives (again I believe this is true).
Now, who's up for a womens league??? chloenurse
Not sure how that would fit in with the Southern Youth League though?

chris's point about bringing in new legislation re groundshares, its not new legislation its there already. No permanent groundshares allowed say coco.

There are 29 Surrey clubs in CCL Prem & Div 1.
Add the Elite League and that makes 45.
A premier division of 20 clubs and two regional division ones of 15 in each (5 other clubs needed)????

Just my view and not that of Westfield FC

Completley agree with the play off's. and the same in CCL1 as well.

I thought the whole point of the Surrey Elite league was to accomodate clubs such as the Warlighams and Chobhams etc that due to no fault of their own play on public parks. The league never seems to put their foot down on anything though other than this ridiculous directive of only letting one person stand and coach from the touchline. That needs to be abolished ASAP.

Very much in favour of the Friday night idear but lets be honest here, the CCL commitee arent the most forward thinking in the world

The league NEEDS play-offs. One promotion is jusst boring, look at Molesey we aren't going to win the league anymore but we might have still been in line for a play-off!

Its what makes the Ryman league interesting.

Is there any way of letting the Combined Counties league officials know what the fans and clubs want?

If your are going to contact the league with your views and thoughts make sure it goes through your club secretary as he/she will know the correct person to contact and has the support of your club. If you club does not support it it is unlikely to ever happen.

Some good ideas some that clubs may be interested in approaching the league.

I saw CC mention club websites.

Hopefully CC, you will appreciate that it is a time and effort thing. I tried to do it for Frimley with a custom site, but I never had to the time to update it at home and could not do it at work as there is no ftp access. Hence why I had to go for a template that can be updated by the club anywhere.

BTW - I think playoffs are a good idea but can't see the BGB and Ryman leagues going for it - ie extra relegation

Dear Mr Teflon,

I really think this thread is one of the best I've seen in my short time on this forum. As you can guess I am associated with Knaphill FC and have the ear of the Chairman who is on the CCL Managment Committee. If you want him to raise any ideas with the CCL you can contact him via the club website

www.knaphillfootballclub.co.uk

Also if any-one is interested in a good website supplier may I suggest PITCHERO. I number of CCL clubs (including Knaphill) already use this site. Go on take a look.

As our (Bookham's) manager is not going anywhere I do not need to answer you question MrAPM.

Also Knappy, I was advising the route to get their idea's across but thanks for your offer.smile
