Welwyn Garden City

Recommended Posts

Bramley, hope all's well. How did the mighty Reading Town do on Saturday? Thanks for the Harefield mention in one of your Barmy Army songs the other day, very amusing.

We'll see you at the Harefield v Welwyn game maybe, Edgware Simon will hopefully give you some support, but me and my brother will be at the other end giving slighty less vocal support to the mighty Hares. boxing

Getting back to the subject of the thread.

Welwyn Garden City are steadilly picking up points and look set to at least a mid table finish under the Dynamic Duo.

Planning is in for the improvements to the ground required for next season and with the squad improving week on week next season could be very interesting indeed.

Glad you've finally got the name of of your new club right Oracle! Welwyn is a completely different place.

Will these improvements be completed by the deadline of 31 March, how much are they going to cost the Club out of interest.

Work will be completed before the 31st March. I don't see that the cost is any concern of yours, unless of course you want to put some money up.

Bilbo - That's an interesting comment, so what you're saying is that it is going to be a struggle for the Club to meet the required improvement costs and that the Chairman is reluctant to dig deep.

TheDoogisKing - I don't quite understand where you are coming from, I think we're all interested in the exploits of Welwyn Garden City at the moment and are curious to see how far up the table they will finish this season with the so called 'Dynamic Duo', or is it 'Deadly Duo', at the helm, they're 15th now however I can't see them getting any higher than that infact my prediction would be 16th or 17th.

I don't want you to be accused by Bilbo of sleeping with the enemy. There is no way Welwyn Garden City will finish above 15th, the only four teams immediately above you, St Margaretsbury, Tring, Hertford Town and Aylesbury Vale that you could in theory get above, are all in false positions and Biggleswade United and Kentish Town have games in hand. The disappointing 1-1 draw you had with St Margaretsbury last week at Herns Lane is proof in the pudding that the so call Dynamic Duo aren't having things all their own way by any means.

Aylesbury Vale did beat a depleated WGCFC side 3 - 2 just before Christmas, with even Steve Newing having to come on as a substitute towards the end of that game but even he couldn't prevent a late winner.

Rhodes are you forgetting the game against Tring, 3 goals in the last 10 minutes, thats the sort of commitment the Dynamic Duo have instilled in their squad. I say bring them all on.

If your are so sure why not take the bet?

I just wanted to wish Bilbo a Happy Birthday without starting a new thread as there won't be enough posts to warrant one, have a good one.
