I see that Gavin is still vey much alive and kicking, I'm surprised he hasn't come on this thread yet to comment on Del and Steve's surprise arrival a Herns Lane:

no 7 dayer was needed for Rob Blackburne as Oxhey were glad to see the back of him with their right said fred lookalike contest coming up. Luckily for him his little brother mark got him out of jail against Chalfont.

Regarding supporters switching to WGC, apparently some of the players families were seen at WGC and not loyal to leyton. Traitors!!

The latest from the Welwyn & Hatfield Times, everything in the garden is looking rosey at Herns Lane under Del and Steve however I hope they are not expecting the Welwyn Garden City heirarchy to dig deep and pay players large sums as it won't happen:

  • 2 weeks later...

I see that expectation is high at Herns Lane of a convincing win later today, the game is all over the Welwyn & Hatfield Times like a rash:

I see there is a preview of the interesting looking Kingsbury London Tigers v Welwyn Garden City game today in the Welwyn & Hatfield Times, I wonder if Gavin will be there:

No doubt Oracle will be creating a thread on today's events at Pancake Lane however here is Leverstock Green's version of events:

I see that Welwyn Garden City's fine win at Leverstock Green is covered in the Welwyn & Hatfield Times:

Barney Rubble - Yes, Del was all over the front cover of the Non League Today paper like a rash on Sunday in an interesting piece about Motor Neurone Disease which he sadly suffers from.

I see Del and Steve finally came up trumps today with a 3-1 win over Langford following some indifferent results lately, no doubt Oracle will be on later with a report.

I see Welwyn Chairman Alan Thomas threw a strop last week when being told by the FA that ground improvements are required at Herns Lane by 31 March 2009, he is so reluctant to put his hand into his pocket which is what Football Club Chairmen generally have to do at the end of the day:

You're certainly in the know, Oracle has confirmed this in his 'official' match report, are you part of the Herns Lane hierarchy or just a 'loyal' Citizens fan, you must be worried that those required ground improvements aren't going to be completed in time, ie by 31 March.

Don't count on it, it's common knowledge that the Welwyn Garden City Chairman's backside squeaks when he walks and he has already made a song and dance about carrying out the improvements in that press article rather than just rolling up his sleeves and getting on with it.
