So they want improved facilities and more money and they're going to Enfield.

Maybe you never know.

Newing and the Enfield board structure - can't see it somehow. Would have been better off at W&F but the "Clan" wouldn't have him. Too scared.

Backfour1 - Wingate and Finchley have a new Manager though and I don't think Del and Steve would last five minutes at the Abrahams Stadium

Rhodes- think you will support me on this.

Was thinking the 2 guys who were on paul tomkins back about walking away from WGC FC should now have first hand experience of the goings on!

like i said before if you dont know the facts dont comment............! Gents i think you now know the facts.............i would hope PT is reading this with a smile on his face!

Pitch isn't that great at Brimmo, played there two weeks ago and it was shocking!!.. More suitable for beach volley ball!

MonkeyMonkey8 - Something tells me you know Paul very well :-)

As regards the Dynamic Duo leaving WGC best of luck to them. I worry about the WGC now, there will certaintly lose most of the current squad. If they dont get funds they cant improve the facilities which will have a knock on effect for Hatfield Town until they get their own facilities.

We are in tough times and hopefully clubs will survive.

Do you mean Oracle and Bilbo, yes I wouldn't be surprised if Paul Tompkins has a smile as wide as the Grand Canyon on his face today however he's not the sort of guy to say 'I told you so' and I still maintain that had he stayed at Herns Lane he would have achieved just as much, if not far more, than the so called 'Dynamic Duo' did.

Fear not NF, work has now started on the pitch to bring it back up to standard. The work was delayed by the tournament you played in!

He certainly doesn't stoop to other people's level, put it that way. I'm afraid you could be right, Welwyn Garden City lived the dream last season under Del and Steve in true Peter Ridsdale style but unfortunately, as you say, it looks like they are going to pay the price for it.

Oracle - Is that your last post with a Welwyn Garden City hat on. Good luck for the future with Enfield Town.

bosman....thats a very good point.......i dont think its fault to be honest........most of the wrong doings were at wgc when he took over.

think the last chairman should have stood up and shouldered some blame!

Welwyn Garden City have appointed Paul Faulkner as their new first team manager. Paul brings his wealth of experience to the club and will attract a number of players to Herns Lane. More news soon....

Work has now started on the pitch and the club are looking for volunteers to help with work around the ground. The next working party will be Saturday 20th June so if you can please come along and report to Gary Bevin

  • 1 month later...

No surprise that Del Deanus and Steve Newing have poached a number of Welwyn Garden City players and even less of a surprise that Oracle, Bilbo and Bramley haven't posted for sometime:
