this just goes to show you know nothing of the situation at the time.

 

im not against the 2 guys that are there now.....no problem at all doing a fine job......but i think people should just try and find out the truth about a subject before making a comment or if you know nothing of the situation.....simple.......DONT COMMENT!

Bilbo - Paul wasn't First Team Coach at Hitchin Town, he was in control of the Reserves and did some good work whilst he was at Fishponds Road by all accounts

Oracle - I did ask the Tokyngton Manor Chairman if he wanted to enter a six a side team in the tournament but he never got back to me, are there still places available. If not I'll do my best to come, it would be good to meet you and bury the hatchet.

If, as you claim you know, why don't you clarify the situation about his exit from Herns Lane,that would stop all the speculation.

It really does depend on what angle some of these people are coming from.........if its football then look back to the end of last season when paul was put in charge of Harpenden first team with 8 games to go and they hadnt won in the league for about 3 months...rooted bottom........he changed things fast there....brought in some younger players from the ressies that he had been running....added a fresh relaxed attitude...which took so much pressure off of the team ..and picked up some great wins.....clear of the drop with one game to go...which was unthinkable when he was first put in charge!

 

if paul finds the right club i think he has the knowledge and know how to put together a very strong team..........

That still does not explain why he left WGCFC with only 11 points and bottom of the league, nor do you explain why he could only muster 7 players for an away fixture?

Just off the subject of PT, does anyone know what teams are running ressies this year? Ive heard a few clubs are dropping their reserve teams and just wonder if anyone could shed some light on this?

Bilbo - To my knowledge Paul didn't leave Welwyn Garden City in the lurch, just the opposite infact as he would have been more than happy to remain at Herns Lane as he was working an absolute miracle with the tools he had at his disposal. When he arrived there were only three first team players as the rest had left when Dave Cooper resigned, then when things went pear shaped at Hertford Town and all their decent players were poached by Biggleswade Town, Pablo Ardiles offered the likes of Matt McArdle, Alex Scrivens and Ryan Gordon a decent amount of money and they waved goodbye to Herns Lane, to rub salt into Paul's wounds Harry Hunt then went to Hendon. I notice you have conveniently failed to mention that Matt Thomson, Anreas Pilides and Raff Khaphouris, who were signed by Paul, have played regularly for Del and Steve so give credit where credit is due.
I also see that you haven't answered Monkeymonkey8's question above so here's your opportunity, what did Paul do at Herns Lane that was so bad, the floor is yours.
