diz knows of an establishment which opens at 7am in hornchurch. not sure if they have a license, but for any sleepless urchins, it's a possibility.

i propose

9am - meet on the dot at moons - those urchins who can stomach breakfast despite their nerves should get some grub inside them. the rest of us can get on the liveners and rehearse some songs that special agent scott has been gleaning from our opponent's local rivals.

11.45, we depart on masse to the stadium of dreams, line up the drinks and continue to calm our jangling nerves.

1.20 pm, last orders please. 20 minutes drinking up time including

1.30pm - fa cup 2nd round draw - we may lose the tie, but we're in the hat. and then we take our places on the eastside of the bridge and have a bit of a sing song to get into the spirit of things, the the noise reaching a crescendo until.

1.59 - proposed minutes silence to remember the fallen... then...

2pm. BANG! a tidal wave of noise to inspire our troops to glory and strike fear into the hearts of our opponents and shock and awe the visiting fans into silence.

kick-off. over to generals mcbride and mcfarlane and the lads on the pitch to do themselves and us proud. general mentalist to orchestrate things on the terraces.

post match. win or lose, on the booze.

i'm rather excited by all this - does it show?

Ferguson determined to avoid cup upset

Published: 05/11/2008

Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson has warned his players to guard against a potential FA Cup shock when they face Hornchurch in the first round on Sunday.

Ferguson's men take a break from league football when they travel to the Isthmian Division Premier League outfit and the Posh boss has re-iterated that there will be no excuse for a defeat.

"It's a new stadium and by all accounts the playing surface is really good so there will be no excuses from us if we don't win," Ferguson told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph.

"That's not to say we will be over-confident. Shocks happen in the FA Cup every season and we must go out of our way to make sure we're not in the headlines.

"That means approaching the match in as professional a manner as possible like we did at Staines last season. We scored an early goal there which set us up nicely so a repeat of that would be ideal," Ferguson added.

Have we built a new stadium sinse I've been away ?
